Our obsession with Bama is equally if not more pathetic than them calling us their biggest rival. To your original question though, yes. I am from Arkansas, and they think Arkansas vs LSU is a huge rivalry game. They could not win another game this year, miss a bowl opportunity, and they would be happy in the end because they beat LSU. Whenever they were actually relevant and they beat us, I would get calls from people I never even spoke to on even an occasional basis with them yelling woo pig sooie and other atrocities at me.

Delusional Arky fan checking in. Arkansas definitely circles the LSU game every year. There is some bleed over from caring about baseball which enhances the dislike.

I don't think it really matters who hates who.

I'd rank our football dislike in this order:

1. LSU
2. Ole Miss
3. TAMU

The rivalry that really took for Arkansas was Tennessee, but the SEC killed it when they went to one East permanent. We really hated Tennessee in the 90s when we played them every year.

Missouri is meh. But maybe someday we will care about that one.

I've been noticing a rise in y'alls disdain for Auburn. A lot of y'all were vocal about not wanting Gus, and even I was unsure he would succeed as a HC in the SEC. His early success especially coupled with Arky's rough start seems to light somewhat of a fire for them inside.

I would switch Ole Miss and BAMA, but only because I really hate Ole Miss.

Yeah Auburn moved up for a bit. It is more about some ongoing Gus-debate. There's the whole Cross Church mega-church Friends of Gus circle that exists in Northwest Arkansas. That one will fade quickly if we ever start winning again consistently.

I think a lot of the LSU dislike came from fan interactions in Little Rock which were less-than-optimal. Anybody who has been to Fayetteville knows that fans there tend to self-police and take pride in being hospitable. That's because many of us actually live here and went to school at the university. Little Rock is a rag-tag bunch of folks. And to be honest, everybody has stories of being Tigah baited in Little Rock in that free-for-all atmosphere. For perspective, I've been to at least 40 Arkansas football games the past 8 years. I haven't been to a Little Rock game since 2006. Not my scene.

In baseball, its a dislike because of the competition, but also a respect for a program that loves college baseball even more than we do.

I think you're confused. Arkansas thinks we're their biggest rival. They don't think they're ours.

Well, we're 4-4 vs them the last 8 seasons. That's pretty even.

I believe this to be true, and it's probably why we always play like shite in that game. It's huge to them and we just don't seem to give a shite.

maybe this season since we just wanted a win but that's not true at all in a normal season.

i, for one, and almost everyone i know and have discussed this with doesn't really consider lsu that important. by saying that, yes you're normally good and yss, it's fun to beat you because of the trash talk but the lsu game by itself in no way makes or breaks our season on the reg.

eta- i'm from central not southern arkansas so maybe that does make a difference.

For LSU, I would rank our rivalries like this:

1. Ole Miss
2. Alabama
3. Texas A&M
4. Florida
5. Auburn
6. Arkansas

Honestly though, I wouldn't even term Florida, Auburn, or Arkansas as rivalries so much as just a series of good games. We definitely aren't Alabama or Texas A&M's primary rivalry. I think Ole Miss is questionable. I think a significant portion of their fan base would choose LSU over Mississippi State. We also have the longest amount of history with them. I feel like that is the game that produces the most hatred on both sides for LSU.

I sat in the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn in Bentonville, AR Saturday morning and several Arkie fans told me they would rather beat LSU than any team on their schedule. It annoyed them that I told them I never met an LSU fan who felt that way about the hawgs, (I suppose some LSU fans living in AR might feel that way.)

I think LSU plays three SECW teams who would rather beat LSU than anyone else they play: Arkie, Ole Miss, and the Ags. Most LSU fans would rather beat bama than anyone else but realize that bama fans do not feel that way about LSU. It appears Nick Saban does though.

The Ark/LSU rivalry was forced on us when the league expanded to 12 teams. We had not played Arkansas in 30 years prior to them joining the league. Yet we played A&M multiple times every decade since the 1940's, until we dropped them after the 1995 season.

Ask any team in the conference who their rival is and you will get a different answer.

For me it changes. But now it's Bama, Auburn Florida, Ole Miss in that order.

Some Ole Miss fans will tell you LSU is their rival not MSU.

Tennessee will say Bama. Bama will say Auburn. Auburn might say Georgia (might lol).

For it to be a rivalry the wins/losses need to be somewhat even. With that being the case Bama never considered LSU a rival until the last 15-20 years.

FYI. I have never considered Arky a rival game, put that is just MO.

I am so sick of hearing this shite from you guys. It's ridiculous. If we cared that much about you, we wouldn't have fired Nutt in 2007. Give me a damn break.

You're not that special. Maybe we don't like you, I don't know but we want to go to bowls and we want to compete. In no way would we be happy just bc we beat LSU.

Maybe you should let your fellow hog fans know this too. They're muddying up your message.
