What are y'all's opinions?
Going there this Sunday, wanted an idea of what's to come.

Salad bar is pretty cool, make sure you get the lobster bisque, the smoked salmon, and try as many of the cheeses as you can, as for the meat it is an over abundance of average meat, lots of variety and a unique enviroment, pretty cool to do once every few years

Better than Golden Coral, salad bar is better than the meat.

I skip the salad bar to make more room for meat!! Truly though, the salad bar is bigger than some entire restaurants.. The meat though is wonderful! Parmesan chicken and filet are my top choices.. Careful though, this meat is VERY salty. You'll be thirsty for days...

HINT-sign up for their e-club thingy, and you can cut your bill significantly. This is NOT a cheap visit.

First, order regular tea. You get free refills with the tea. Water will be served too in those blue glasses. They will try and run up your bill by pushing fruity bottled tea and sparkling water or some shite like that. Cokes are expensive and are served in little baby bottles. I'm not a wine guy, so I don't know shite about that, but they do have wine, as you will see. I'm not a cocktail guy either, but they got those too.

Second, eat the bread from the buffet line, not that stuff they serve you at the table. Other side items they bring to the table are mashed tators and fried bananas. I tend to eat the tators in between bites of meat. Fried bananas is good. If the waiter doesn't bring these items out, ask for it. And yes, you can get seconds and thirds of these items.

Third, make sure you have other food (from the buffet) on your plate when they come around with the meat. You will need break from all the meat.

Forth, anytime you hear a gaucho ask"Top Sirlion? or Sirlion?" get it. That goes for Flank Steak too. I tend to say away from the chicken, pork or the beef ribs. They aren't bad, they just take up valuable stomach space. I like those little sausages. You may have to ask for them. They tend to be stingy with those for some reason. Always ask for two, as you may not get another chance. Garlic roasted filet is good, Bacon wrapped filet is good. Leg of lamb is damn good. Lamb chops are damn good. You may have to ask for it, and ask for two. The house special (and that's what they call it) is good, but not better than the other stuff I listed here.

Fifth, don't forget to use your thongs. Your gaucho will appreciate it.

Sixth, I think I had all but one of their desserts. They are good but not great, and maybe not worth the extra coin. The fried bananas, that come with the meal, make a good dessert actually. If I was forced to pick one, it would be the Chocolate Mousse Cake. If two, the cheese cake.

Seventh, you may have to stay on your waiter's arse. At just about any other restaurant, I will allow the waiter to set the pace and let them do what they do. At TdeB, they tend to get busy and are inclined to take a while to do basic stuff. What I'm saying is, don't be hesitate to ask for what you want ( meats you want but aren't being brought around, more side items, a clean plate, refills or whatever. It's supposed to be a high-end joint with high-end service, but it ain't really. I'm not knocking it. It is what it is. Service was on a higher level when they first open, but the clientele of Baton Rouge and the people that TdeB tends to attract aren't about the high-end shite, so they adjusted the level of service down a notch. They no longer have white table cloths, crumb the table, or refold your dinner napkin when you leave the table, you know, the little things.

While the meat is good there, I would rather go to a steakhouse where I don't have to stuff myself to get the price's worth.

i agree with this but i also liked Texas De Brazil for something to do once every year or two. i went for my first time last week for my birthday. I found it to be overwhelming for my first time i think it would be much more enjoyable the next time i go. i literally said yes to everything but really should have stuck to the pork loin, top sirloin, flank steak, filet, and garlic filet. the ribs and chicken are nothing special.

Now this is the kind of hard-hitting research and dining guide this board needs more of. I look forward to your next novel about how to maximize your experience at Plucker's all you can eat wing night. If they still do that.

What gaucho wouldn't appreciate that? My plumbers butt looks spectacular in a black thong.

How is your blood pressure? Seriously. It's good, but it's extremely salty. You can literally feel the hypertension in your body after you roll out of that place.

It's extremely salty and average IMO. Only time I go is when I have a BOGO. Completely not worth it otherwise.

It's the first slice off the house special that's the salty part. Never had an issue with anything else that I recall.

It's a nice looking space, it's expensive, the food salty and mediocre and if you enjoy dining surrounded by Walmart shoppers, you'll like it.

Otherwise, save your money.

I love TDB. Pace yourself at the salad bar, a lot of good stuff on it. Rookies always over eat at the salad bar before getting to the meat. Is the meat what you're gonna get at Ruth's? No. But for the volume/variety they pump out, it's pretty damn good. Yes, it can be pretty salty sometimes. It's a high end trough. I've never done it at full price, but for a birthday BOGO, it's fantastic.

I went a couple of weeks ago. Friend had a gift card from a former employer. Thought the meat was really good -- the flank steak and the beef ribs were the standouts. It gets overwhelming with all the servers coming by. Just pace yourself.

I stopped reading your post here. The beef ribs are outstanding, possibly one of the best meats in the entire lineup.

I could go to TdB and eat beef ribs and lamb chops only and leave more than satisfied.

First off, As of this past year they stopped the BOGO birthday offer. I got a free dessert coupon. Probably because all you cheap fricks who act pretentious in here were making multiple email accounts to get more free meals.

Second i would never go without a coupon. It is not worth it. In early spring they offer a VIP card which is 60$ and you get 12 meals for 1/2 off. Great deal for you and the guys to go out a few times a year and act like men and stuff yourself.

The poster that talked about the meat was mostly right. The only good cuts to keep getting are Bacon Fillets, House special, Flank, Lamb. I stay stay from chicken and sausage. IDK what he is talking about the bread they bring it is small cheese rolls that are great. No potatos, many bananas.

I also love the guy saying it is all walmart crowd. Yea you might see someone that would shop at walmart, but the last three times i have been i saw Shaq, Carl Malone(with his son and a bunch of football players, Of course the players all paid for themselves ), and a ton of doctors from the neuro center next door. There is a dress code so dont think it is going to be full of walmart clientele.
