In a "that's a nice watch from the mall" sort of way. Gotta be more unique than that. You made a good choice.

I agree. My quest to find unique things drives my wife nuts.

I got this one used and it is probably my favorite simple, classy, yet interesting watch I have. Its a 1969 Omega Seamaster... It's pretty badass and it was under a grand so there are some good deals on great watches out there...

You should absolutely get a sapphire crystal.
No, this is not an absolute. There are other options that are comparable, and in some cases better, than sapphire depending on the user. People make a big deal about scratches and forget that sapphire crystals shatter if impacted the wrong way. The Seiko I posted uses their Hardlex material which is still a 7 Moh and more impact resistant. I have another that uses their Saphlex material.

Wenger Swiss Army Watch/Leather Band. Not fancy but dress casual. LL Bean makes a nice Officer's Field Watch too. Nothing wrong with Wenger, Ive been wearing this one 10 years

Probably true. Just talking about a $250 mineral crystal watch vs a $350 sapphire one. Worth the money if you bang up a watch.

Isn't that what the Omega speedmaster has?

This is a good looking watch with an automatic movement and sapphire crystal. Swiss Army

They use Hesalite (softer but easier to buff) or Sapphire.

WestCoastTime has a lot of good looking military style watches.
Here is a custom Marathon watch they have made that has an ETA 2824 movement and a domed sapphire crystal. It also has the tritium vials. I just noticed that this one does not have the date window but they do make it with a date function.
Here is a nice pilot watch.

The case on that Marathon is so cool. From the lugs to the crown, it couldn't look better.

You have a collection? I've always worn the same watch everyday. I change bands, but my favorite watch is always on my wrist if a watch is appropriate.
