Is the hosting ok with 1&1 how is the email service or should i use another hosting and email service?
no ecommerce just a few pages of information about products services nothing to update that offten, just creating a web presence and needed email with domain. I am not using their web builder I am going to use a publishing software that i can just import each page I dont care for their templets and fonts and its easier to just whip it up and upload it.
Thoughts any help or advice would be appriciated.

In my experience it's awful. Use GoDaddy for your site and Google Apps for your email.

I buy my domains from 1&1, don't host them there though. I had decent service from Hostgator as a cheap shared hosting service before I moved everything to my home server.
Google Apps for email.
