2008 Jordan Jefferson - will be best remembered for a bar fight and not crossing the 50 yard line in his biggest game ever

If you kept hearing an out of tune tuba player in the Tiger Band you'd say they suck too.

Depends - how tall is he?

Absolutely. It was a great tackle.

Just think, if Pat White came here under Miles (or hell, Saban) he would have never played QB and we would have missed out on one of the best QBs in NCAA history.

Who won zero championships and was responsible for a home loss to 28 pt underdog Pitt which ensured Les Miles won his only championship.

He was recruited by Saban fwiw

It is abundantly clear he is a total loser in selecting QBs. I don't think any coach could do this bad if they tried to.

Yeah, Muschamp has had great success with QBs over his tenure at Florida

sad thing is Miles was really pumped about Liggins, that was his recruit, the rest of the staff was pretty meh on him

Oh that's a bang up job evaluating talent right there. LSU would be playing Jared lorenzen part 2 "tons" right now. Except Jared was actually decent at playing QB.

That should tell you all you need to know about our evaluation skills at the QB position pre-Cameron

+1.

What else is there to say aside from the fact that QB is not a very important position...

Excellent post. You nailed most of it. Maybe I am too optimistic but I still have high hopes for Harris. And, is Jennings really the worst ever? He is on the list but surely someone must have been worse. I may start a new thread asking this question.

I think it's safe to say that Miles has an eye for QB talent like Stevie Wonder has for sight.

But there's no doubt in my mind that some of that list could have been developed into serviceable signal callers in programs with coaches that are capable.

You don't develop quarterbacks when your preferred offensive strategy is to line up in 2 tight end sets and try the same 2 or 3 running plays and pass on third and long. Not much development occurs from turning and handing the ball off, even when the play comes in late, like it does at least 5 times a game

After Jefferson regained the starting role, we scored:

42
52
41 (against #3 Arkansas)
42 (against #12 UGA)

Stop. Just stop

JJ led 42 points?
Jo. Jefferson sacked for loss of 4 yards, safety
Kadron Boone 5 yd pass from Jarrett Lee, TOUCHDOWN
Jordan Jefferson 8-14-0 168 yds

52 points?
Zack Stoudt pass intercepted by Ron Brooks at the UM46, Ron Brooks return 46 yards, TOUCHDOWN
Fumble by Barry Brunetti recovered by Kevin Minter, TOUCHDOWN
Jordan Jefferson 7-7-0 88 yds

41 pts?
Dylan Breeding punt 42 yards to Tyrann Mathieu return 92 yards, TOUCHDOWN
Jordan Jefferson 18-29-1 208 yds

42 against UGA? Really?
Drew Butler punt 59 yards to the LS38, Tyrann Mathieu return 62 yards, TOUCHDOWN
Aaron Murray pass intercepted by Mo. Claiborne. Claiborne return 45 yards, TOUCHDOWN
Jo. Jefferson 5-13-0 30 yds

People like you are why Miles gets away with starting Jefferson and Jennings

Our bread and butter in recruiting is Louisiana, and we have put out some mediocre QB talent.

Top Louisiana QBs were

Periloux
Jefferson
Dak
Harris

Thats been it.

Looks like we've had trouble with QB development since Jimbo Fisher left.

Maybe Miles should hire a full time QB coach?

It all starts with CLM, if he won't change the QB recruiting criteria and his offensive philosophy then hiring a full-time QB coach would be a waste of time and money.
