In NOLA - Where are the "SEC Bars"?
Posted by Blackfield on 11/16/14 at 9:42 pm00
I'd love to get a better feel for the bar scene in New Orleans as it relates to "official bar of...."
For instance, Rusty Nail is obviously the Alabama bar in town. And I'm not sure if it's still this way, but Bruno's in the RiverBend was where Auburn fans would gather for games and organize different things.
How about for the other schools? Anybody familiar with if there is a scene for UGA, or Ole Miss, or South Carolina fans, for instance? Or others?
There's a huge growth of young professional alums from SEC schools and just curious if this market is growing around town.

Carrollton Station is the UGA Bar.
The Bricks (lol) used to be the Ole Miss bar but it closed.
This city isn't big enough to support separate bars for all those schools. Just go to Cooter Browns.

"The" SEC bar is Frat . . . err, Fat Harry's.
The Ole Miss bar is Manning's.
The Alabama bar is the Rusty Nail.
The Georgia bar is Redd's or Carrollton Station.
The Texas A&M bar is Oz.
The Auburn bar is First Baptist Church.
The Mississippi State bar is Brothers III.
