Biggest surprise so far in Euro 2016 Qualifying?
Posted by glassman on 11/16/14 at 8:13 pm00
IMO Israel sitting atop their group with a match in hand over of all people Wales. Plus a huge edge in GD. Bosnia-Herzegovina is really shitting the bed in that group so far. And Belgium is in the same group 4 points behind Israel.
What do ya'll think?

Do you mean positive only? Because Germany sitting on 7 points after 4 games is by far the biggest surprise to me. Greece being last in their group is next. I'd say Austria leading their group for positive.
Beating Cyprus and Andorra, and winning at home doesn't shock me regarding Israel.

That was a sure hostile environment for Bosnia was well. Im sure some of their players were not at ease playing in Israel.

Iceland has been cultivating some pretty solid talent in the last five years or so.
A while back they really revamped their entire developmental system, mostly structurally. They made a lot of indoor sporting facilities, so people can play soccer year round now. Also, those small 4v4/5v5 synthetic pitches with walls are EVERYWHERE. They must have the highest number of those things per capita in the world.

Not at ease for what? Bosnian muslims have nothing to do with Israel. They are nowhere close to the ones in the middle east. They can act but they are nothing more than converted Serbs and Croats.
