Where does the pressure for Les to improve come from?

He's locked in with a golden parachute type contract that gives the school no power to exert pressure. The TAF donors could get pissed, but in the current climate will they be willing to put up all the money that would be required to push him out? The fans can stay home, but unless season ticket and parking pass renewals drop significantly, I don't see that putting a huge dent in things.

As scary as it sounds, I think our best home is Miles' pride and ego, and hopefully a desire not to go out as a mediocre coach but rather a successful one. And at his age, with his bank account, it's far from certain he's got enough desire to work as hard it will take to turn this thing around and it get it moving upward again.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say, after what I saw last night, if Les doesn't retire or leave for Ann Arbor after this season...we're stuck with him for the duration, i.e., thru the 2019 season.

Unless, of course, he manages to leverage the Michigan opening for more years out of Alleva. That wouldn't necessarily surprise me, either.
