I understand that their season last for most of the year but is that the primary reason they're paid so much? I don't watch baseball so I'm not knowledgeable of the business side but don't some CFB/NFL games regularly draw more viewers than baseball? Anyone care to expound on this?

If there was no salary cap, all sports would pay like that.

Because baseball fans are intelligent and are paid more money.

I don't know the $ numbers in total, but MLB rosters have 25 guys. NFL rosters have 53. So there's that to consider on a per-player basis.

Baseball pays it's players ridiculous amounts with longer contracts. Less watched then NBA and NFL.

World Series: Avg viewership 13,942,857

NBA Finals: Avg viewership 15,500,000

NFL Superbowl: 111,500,000

After looking that up, why the hell are NFL players getting shite on?

Best union in all of sports. Plus it would be stupid to pay NFL players more. Besides QBs they're just widgets in helmets.

Plenty of answers but baseball has the only players union worth a shite in North American professional sports.
