Can you see where I'm coming from on this? Hope this spurs some debate, I am interested to hear your rebuttal

not really. if they leave in bad standing then it hurts. So if the one and dones just skip their spring semester it can hurt. But simply leaving for the NBA doesnt hurt.

From my understanding, if you have good grades when you leave then it doesn't hurt.

It is not like Kentucky is putting them in real classes. None of them are going to get a degree, so place them in courses(weight lifting, art, dance...) that they can maintain atleast a C average for one year.

most schools do that. but they still have to actually go and get grades. some kids wont even do that. and if they dont it hurts the schools apr.

It's really a double-standard from the NCAA compared to college football.

It's almost as if the NCAA just gave up on college basketball - they just don't care that nobody even goes to class.

"There's a situation in college basketball that really bothers me beyond anything that's ever bothered me in my career," Bob Knight said.

"Kentucky, year before last, started five players in the NCAA tournament games that had not been to class that semester. And that's that one-and-done philosophy that we have now."

They do nothing but play their first semester and delay their classes until basketball season is over and then leave...it's like they aren't even trying to fool anyone - it's out in the open and the NCAA just doesn't give a crap.

If they leave early and are in good academic standing it doesn't matter if they ever come back and finish.
One and dones aren't there long enough to get in too much trouble and I'm sure UK is taking care of that.
