Stove, dryer, hot water, and heater are not working. Any ideas? I don't know shite about electrons and whatnot. All the breakers are on, nothing has tripped. Basically, everything besides 220v users is working fine.

Now i gotta go burn a sofa to stay warm.

Had this happen to a spec house I built once and the power line coming into the house needed to be replaced. It was nothing wrong in the house, breaker box, etc. It was on the utility companies side.

ETA: It was basically only sending in one phase of the 3 phase transmission lines so it wasn't enough to run anything 220.

Sounds like one leg of your electrical is not working. All 220 appliances are out?

Can you measure your voltage from the meter to the breaker panel?

Check each side to ground or neutral and make sure you get 110-120 from each leg. Then see if you get 220-24 from both legs.

three wires come in. One is neutral, which in the box has a path to ground. then you have two phases of 110-120v.
You can measure each from the box. If you can't get 220-240 then it's the utilities fault.

Odd thing is, in a breaker box, it's not all one phase on the left and one on the right, it's back and forth and switches up. So If one phase is out other things shouldn't work, unless the power is just back-feeding through your appliances.

Sounds like a transformer issue. Call the utility company.

Those should each have their own breaker. Do you have a separate sub-panel away from the main?

Sounds like one leg of the tri-pole from the power company is dead; meaning one half of your panel is dead. I'd call them.

Also, if your power is overhead, go look at the transformer and see if your have a breaker tripped.

I've seen main breakers go bad, and one leg has power and the other doesn't and it isn't tripped, just not making contact.

If you don't know your way around a meter, I would get someone who does.

Either or you probably won't be able to legally repair it. As even if it is the main, you have to pull your meter to turn off power. If you do that, make sure you do not break the utility tag. Just pull down on it quickly with a stick or screwdriver. One fast yank.
Then when done put it back on.

This is in Lakeview. Talked to Entergy, they said it's probably on their side and are sending out someone tonight. Thanks for the serious responses, wasn't expecting that

Craziest shite I ever saw was a guy had a hot neutral hitting his main panel coming off the tri-plex. He had 220 at every outlet I checked.

The wind was blowing that day and his service from the elec company was about 150' thru a bunch of oak trees. Squirrels had chewed the outer coating of the neutral and when the wind blew it would make contact. Damn near burned the house down

this is why I say to anyone.
If it has a computer chip in it, or a digital display make certain it has a surge protector on it.

A lot of people loose Dryers, ovens, washers and microwaves to surges.
Power company won't give you anything for it either.

Power comes into my house in one box, its then fed to two boxes. One feeds all my 110 and one feeds all my 220. The 220 box is outside on its seperate breaker. Check those breakers to see if they okay,

if you do this, fully expect the power company to stop by within 15 or 20 minutes. Pretend like you have no clue what happened.

OP should definitely get professional help. It is probably something simple but just not worth the risk.

I think the electric company will handle that one. Call them with the meter number.

As a poor college student I had to recconnect my power many a times. the tamper tag is just a metal hook in a piece of plastic that "locks" the meter box tab in place.
It's not a two way transformer. Hell I wish Entergy had that technology, then they would know exactly where power is out and how many houses affected.
