So far I've considered smooth ostrich, caiman (no horn back), and elephant. All Lucchese or blackjack.

These are the smooth ostrich I'm eyeing

Lucchese elephant

Blackjack caiman

This would be my first pair of BJ btw. For those who own both, are they as comfortable as lucchese?

That's what I hear. They take a while to break in though, right?

They have them in stock in a few sizes at calendars in lafayette.

They will get them from another store if they don't

When did they start making elephant boots again?

My dad gave me his old elephant boots when I was a teenager. He had them re-soled before he gave them to me and I wore them until I outgrew them. Indestructible skin.

bleeding Purple has some elephant, might be the same ones. I saw them in South Dakota and they looked real good. He is hunting Kansas so you might not get him input...

I didn't know they had stopped making them.
