First one is one of my alltime favorite comedies and I didn't care much for the new one. Like I said, it had its funny moments but I thought the storyline was subpar.

I can't understand how anyone can go into this movie thinking it's going to be anywhere close to the original.

I fully expect reviews to be nothing but "meh" to "awful" because people want it to be funny as the first, and it's just not going to happen

I'm going tommorow and expecting nothing but a silly movie with a few laughs.

shite the first one had a somewhat serious undertone at times and some sad music. I don't see that at all with this one.

Honestly I have no idea what happened to the Farrelly Bros. The were the kings of comedy then fell off the map. They are so hit and miss. Their last good movie was Stuck on You.

Nowhere near great as the first one, but I wasn't expecting that. Still thought it was pretty funny overall. The movie did its job and made me laugh quite a bit.

Dumb and Dumber is my favorite movie of all time. Well tied with Vacation. I have been excited for over a year to see this. The previews looked terrible but I had hope. The prequel pissed me off it was so bad. This one had to be somewhere in between but hopefully closer to the original.

It was terrible. Only a handful in the theater and each joke found zero laughs. I chuckled a few times at dumb gross humor but my wife said it was the worst movie she had ever seen. It doesn't compare to the original and just felt forced. The movie started very unwatchable and actually got better once they started their road trip. It had a lot of references to the first kinda like the Hangover 2. Overall it was nostalgic at best but I'll never watch again on TV.

The best part was Seabass but you had to stay past the credits to see it. Billy in 4C was a funny idea but that kid clearly didn't have a career in acting for a reason. Rob Riggle was kinda funny in it. It's like they forgot exactly how dumb to act and went full retard instead which was annoying more than funny.

I thought that plus a few laughs was the point.

Did anyone actually expect a fantastic movie?

I expected a funny movie. They have made me laugh in almost all of their films. This one was just bad. Carrey made it sound like it would take a perfect script to get him involved. He said no for years. He finally said yes so I thought maybe they had pulled off the impossible. I expected a nostalgic movie about half as funny as the original which is the funniest move of all time. They failed.

Haven't seen it yet and won't go to see it in the theater. I feel like everything Jim Carey does lately is forced. He played a great over the top moron character, then he got away from it. Now it's like he's trying to do his slapstick stuff again and he just lost it. But they are going to let him because he's Jim Carey and it will sell a few tickets.

Actually Carrey said he didn't want to do any more sequels but he watched he original in a hotel room years ago and said he missed everyone from it and wanted to make another.

the previews just looked awful.

They officially lost me in one of them, Care and Daniels are building a pillow fort and one says "No girls allowed, boys rule, girls drool" That line probably belonged in the prequel from a few years ago.

I guess its tough to re create the same magic you had in the first one, but this looked like a lazy cash grab

The first 20-30 minutes were terrible. I was sitting there dreading the next hour or so... then they started on the road trip with the handyman and it got a lot funnier. Sure they whole road trip angle was a rehash, but it worked.

I enjoyed the rest of the movie, laughed out loud several times... they just needed the rest of the cast as non-retards to balance it all out.

Obviously it was nowhere close to the original, and I went in with LOW expectations, but it was worth seeing.
