Guys,my partner (business not the other kind) is turning 40 this year and I'm trying to think of a good gift for him. He's an avid angler, hunts some but really doesn't have the time, but I'm sure he could use a high quality all purpose outdoor knife. My budget is $100 or less. Can you point a fella in the right direction?

TIA

benchmade griptillion?

When I think outdoor knife, I think a thick fixed blade, but if he mainly fishes, a good foding pocket knife or a multi tool would probably be better.

I like these by Boker. Good for opening with one hand since it's push button.

I rarely hunt or fish anymore, but my BIL got me a KA-BAR - with an engraved monogram on the blade- for my 50th birthday. It's both a badass knife and a work of art. I don't do a damn thing with it, but I love it!

Thanks for the ideas gents. Who sells these that also engraves? I'm guessing it'll have to be online.

Knife Works does engraving.

ESEE 3 with engraving will be right at $100. It's a great all-around outdoor knife, but if fishing is his main hobby, it may not be your best bet.

Browning makes a nice 3 bladed pocketknife that has a blade, guthook and saw. Perfect if partner is a deer hunter.

I really like and own a few Cold Steels. Their master hunter or the srk are great knives.
I have had my master hunter for about 16yrs... I've breasted ducks to opening cans with it.

Buck nighthawk.

Also, another vote for the KA-BAR full sized USMC knife.

And, another fixed blade is the SOG Seal Pup.
