Which of the three was the best? Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, or The Worlds End?
In my opinion I say the Worlds End was the best but I loved the other two as well. Overall, one of my favorite trilogies (even though they do not correlate)

World's End: I enjoyed the first part of the movie a lot, when they were just talking shite to each other but the alien robots just kind of fell flat for me.

Hot Fuzz
Shaun Of The Dead

I need to watch both of these again sometime soon.

World's End... really didn't work for me.

It's just Cornetto Trilogy.

Hot Fuzz, followed by World's End. Shaun of the Dead is last.

If you're watching World's End for the first time on DVD or DVR, immediately after watching- go back and watch the opening segment of the movie again.

I need to do a total rewatch, and then I'll do that.

Wright does a good job of setting up scenes and hitting them again in different ways.

In Hot Fuzz, the order in which we're introduced to different people in the town is the same order they show up in the big battle scene. (I didn't notice that, heard it on the commentary.)

Hot Fuzz
Shaun of the Dead
The World's End

I love how there is no consensus on this. No matter how many people you ask its almost split with equal groups for all three. Shows you how good these movies are.

Blows my mind that so few have Shaun at the top. If you have the dvd or can find it, watch it with the directer commentary and story notes. There is soooo much winks and homages to past zombie movies it's insane. There is absolutely no way you could improve it. It is a perfect movie.

Funniest: Hot Fuzz

Well, the World's End and especially Hot Fuzz are much the same. Wright and Pegg do their research. In about 5 minutes of the violence in Hot Fuzz, there are probably references to like 60 different action movies in it. They claimed to watch over 100 action movies when writing the script, and it shows.

I didn't mean to make it sound like Shaun was different in that way, I was simply pointing it out because most of the movie homages and references they are making are from movies made in the 60s and 70s and not as obvious to the casual viewer.
I think Shaun is the best of the three mainly because it has so much more heart than the other two. I know that is vague reasoning, but it's the only way to describe it without giving everyone a manifesto to read.

I love Shaun, but Hot Fuzz is just so perfect. world's End, to me, is a very good movie, but not quite in the rare air of the other two.

I have to disagree here. Yes Shaun has more heart than Fuzz does, but I really think The World's End is his film with the most heart and the most to say. It's brilliant, and they all are, but it's the one that emotionally resonates with me the most, especially when it comes to nostalgia and drinking.

Well if that is how you really feel, we'll just have to agree to disagree. Shaun is the best Pegg character of all the movies and his relationship with the other characters is the deepest. I would just encourage everyone to rewatch each and decide if they still think Fuzz is the best. I just felt compelled to argue for Shaun because, before reading this thread, I thought it was pretty much universally accepted as the best one.

Shaun
Hot Fuzz
World's End

It's extremely close and all of these movies are super-entertaining and re-watchable. I probably like Shaun more because it was the first movie that crew did together.
Simon Pegg has been in a Doctor Who episode and Nick Frost will be in the Christmas episode. The BBC needs to move heaven and earth to get Edgar Wright to direct one. The World's End is a twisted Doctor Who episode...
