Rumors are that Tim Rebowe will be hired as Nicholls St. head coach

He's been a position coach with the Cajuns since 2004. Not sure about his abilities to coach up players but he's pretty good at recruiting the New Orleans area and I'm pretty sure he's from down the river.

Tim is a top notch person and a good coach. I have known him for a long time and if Nicholls St hires him they won't regret it.

Should be a good fit if so. He was on their staff in the mid to later 90's and was their recruiting coordinator.

I was personally hoping for that Florida HS coach but Rebowe seems like a good hire.

Not sure I'd prefer a high school coach over a guy who's been a high school coach and has a bunch of college experience.

Is it possible to win at Nicholls? Can they achieve something like SELU was able to do last year?

They've been competitive in spurts in the past. No reason they can't be going forward, IMO. Rebowe appears to be a better hire than anyone on the list that was released. He had some decent success as a HS head coach and has prior experience at Nicholls.

I think the Florida High School coach was a joke. Somebody posted a screen shot of that school's webpage, and the head coach was not the guy that applied for the Nicholls job.

What about the facilities? I have heard that they are deplorable (should have included this with the first question)

If he has enough connections, he can get legit FBS transfers (like SELU) who would be immediately eligible. McNeese and others have benefitted greatly from this for years

Our RB coach left us a few years ago to take the HC job at Bethune-Cookman and has a 45-14 overall record so far. So, it's not necessarily scraping at the bottom of the barrel.

Lot of smoke to this one, I spoke with a players parent a couples weeks back and he was telling me the same thing.
Shame what those kids had to go through this year.
