The Serial Podcast?!?!

Ok folks, on some recommendations of yal's I looked into this podcast. I quickly binged every episode this morning, and now I can't stop thinking about this.
I've been trying to read up on it, and I was shocked to findout this is actually a true story? Is she just using the murder as a true story and then making everything up from there or is it all supposed to be true?
I can't figure out what's real and what's fake

Since nobody gave you an actual answer:
Yes, it's real. Unless we're all getting punked everything she talks about is legit. I don't want to look it up because I don't want any spoilers from the actual case.

So all of this has already happened? If I wanted to I could look it up and find out the ending or is this something that's ongoing and still undecided (appeal-wise and in searching for the real killer if Amdan didn't do it)?

Yeah, I was going to save it for some of my long 5hr rides, and I binged out on it the past two days. I think I saw a spoiler podcast. Please someone, don't frick this up for me in this thread.

OK good. It seemed it was headed in the direction of at least some subtle spoilers. The very first post mentioned murder etc but I assume that's what the whole thing is about (like saying Dexter is a serial killer).

Yea not a single thing revealed here other than a Star Wars is set in space spoiler.
