KA for Pho.
That's where the agreement ends, apparently. My one visit to KA for pho was downright awful...an overly salty broth with no nuance (no star anise, cinnamon, no depth of flavor). It tasted like a powdered mix. It was so bad I never tried again.

I love crispy crunchy wings. Those look delicious.

KA 's pho tastes different on every visit it seems, and I eat there often and have for years
It's never bad, but sometimes it's GOAT, other times it's just passable

There you go Wise!
A non-believer. I think they do an excellent pho, but I'm no maven. I probably only order pho 1/5 trips to a Viet shop.
Hungryone, who makes your pho of choice?

I find pho to be very inconsistent at all the places I've been to multiple times.

The pho at TD definitely isn't best on the Westbank. Love the spicy lemongrass shrimp steam buns though. Also something like $8 for a to go order banh mi and half order of grilled pork sping rolls is tough to beat.

I have nothing to contribute to this thread other than I clicked on it and then found myself at Pho Tau Bay.

Been about a half dozen times and don't plan to go back there. I'm not the only person in my office that feels this way.
Pho Tau Bay is my standby for pho tai w/meatballs; it's reliably tasty, has a little fat but not greasy, and usually has a decent herb plate alongside. Broth is never too sweet and the noodles are never stuck in a big wad in the bottom of the bowl (two fatal errors I often encounter in lesser pho joints).
Second fave is the Pho Bang in Metairie...those lil ladies are super nice, and it is consistent & cheap. I also like that location's bun thit nuong; the pork is superthin sliced tenderloin. Typically, thit nuong is made from fattier (and chewier) pieces of pork, but this thit nuong reminds me of good country cajun grilled pork grillades (which have nothing to do w/city/NOLA stewed grillades, but that's a story for another thread). Lean thit nuong may not be traditional, but it suits me.

the com ga roti is seriously good though.
No where else compares regarding this dish.
Pho Bang in Metairie and the one in the East are my two go to pho spots. My MIL use to cook at the one in Metairie. The one who owned Pho Bang in Metairie sold it a while back and opened the East one.
The guy who actually owns the namesake/chain is actually friends with my sister. Old perv.

Ask for a side of sate'. It's a game changer. Mix it with the Sriracha and Hoisin Sauce. Dump the meatball in.

Ba Chi wings are awesome
Mint's are not impressive.
Will have to try these.

They will mix flavors, I usually split between garlic and lemongrass.

Try their wings that are candy-coated in nuoc mam
My favorite wings though are the salt and pepper wings w/ garlic at Little Chinatown in Kenner

Man all this talk about pho paired with this cold front. Got my neck twitching.
I'm doing pho for dinner. Maybe some banh mi. I know you're not supposed to eat poboys for dinner, does that apply to banh mi as well?
