Think the trout will be headed to the deep holes with this front? Water temps across the state are still in the 70's. . . not sure how much it will plunge with this next one.

Trying to strategize for the kayak tournament this weekend in Venice!

I will let you know Saturday pm, plan on being in Yellow cotton area fishing when it warms up a bit. Still a few deep holes to hit in the Buras canal to try.

Yea, YCB is one of the spots I'm thinking of fishing since there's some good deep holes there and around the area.

But if water temps only dip a few degrees and are still in the mid 60's, I'm not sure the fish will be stacked like they usually do in January and February.

May end up fishing further north where I know a few 8-9ft holes in otherwise 4-6ft of water...
School is really messing up my prefishing! Ugh...

I'm going to try mothershipping out to some holes in Lake Boudreaux. My buddy has a few winter spots I want to try out.

You don't have to fish the holes in Yellow cotton, we hammered them drifting the flats out there last weekend.

We'll be down 23 in the kayaks this weekend, but not entering the tournament. As of now the plan is to launch behind PS high school

Going tomorrow to Reggio. Shell Beach buoy has water temp at 57 right now. I'm hoping it won't go much lower and then a little sum tomorrow will warm things up slightly. It's gone be real fricking cold. But that's ok.

Gonna be there on Saturday. Hopefully bust the ducks arse quick and get in the boat.... May drift a bit, but more than likely hit some deep holes...

yeah, my worst one was a Minimalist Challenge too. North wind blew water out of the marsh and I got stuck 2x in a pipeline canal and cut. The year before I wore shorts. La weather can be crazy.

I think i had a LKFC tourney on Big Lake that was pretty close.

Wanted to hit a few cork spots, but may have to go deep.

Shell beach buoy is down to 54. Can that actually be right? Everywhere else is 3-8 degrees warmer.

last time I went out of Coco was late Oct., the water temp was 69 and I was wearing shorts and sandals. I can believe it.
