Upgrade fee when you're due for an upgrade

Is this a thing now? My wife went to upgrade her phone earlier and they hit her with a $30 upgrade fee even though she is due for one.

That's normal. They have always charged you a fee for upgrading.
And yes, it's bullshite.

For the subsidized phones, AT&T charges $40 for iPhone upgrades and $36 for other upgrades.

I Haven't upgraded since I went from a flip phone to the first iPhone so I'm out of the loop.

I bought my LG G3 off Amazon. No taxes, free shipping, and no upgrade fee. Plus it was only $530 when I bought it (compared to $580 at the AT&T store/website). Saved about $150 total.

I called Verizon when I got home and got it waived.
It takes about 30 minutes but its pretty easy. They'll try and tell you that it's used for training and tech support, etc. I said that I never use that stuff and that I had been a customer for a long time without any issues and the fee wasn't sitting well with me.
Anyone ever had their monthly bill lowered? I'm going to try that soon. I pay about $90 a month now, going to shoot for $60 or $70.

I refuse to pay extortion fees, frick those cocksuckers. Buy them off Amazon or at minimum, do what you did.
As far as your plan, how many people do you have with Veri$on? They have all kinds of ways to pay less than $90/month for 1 line and even more if you have more people.

It's just one line. I need something comparable from a competitor to jew them down with. I have unlimited talk and text with 6 gb of data.
