Can Urban Meyer make any dual threat QB look good? Since Barrett's horrible game against VT, he has really improved. Would Jennings look this good at Ohio State? I say yes.

JT Barrett is a special player for a redshirt freshman.

He made throws that our senior two time Big Ten offensive player of the year never could.

So, maybe. But doubtful.

Obviously, this is just anecdotal, but I've watched Jennings throw from a few feet away, and he has an awesome arm. I was shocked. I just think he has no confidence in the game plan, so he hesitates on basic reads and throws.

He doesn't have an awesome arm

Yeah, I am absolutely astounded at the poise that Barrett has.

Another anecdote, but after the biggest win for Ohio State under Urban Meyer and JT Barrett casually goes to the bench to grab his helmet and walk to the locker room.

He is all business and poise. And he's a solid leader already. Ohio State is in a very good place.

He is probably the best QB every to play at Ohio State.

Jennings would be much better at Ohio State, and Barrett would be much worse at LSU.

People have completely dismissed Barrett because Foster made him look bad in his first start against a real team as a freshman.

Barrett is really REALLY good. Jennings isn't in his neighborhood.

Braxton Miller wouldn't have faired much better in that game.

Ohio State may have won because Miller's escapability is a bit better, but the OLine for Ohio State would have looked just as bad against a bear front that they unveiled in that game.

Not the same results. Did you see Jennings try to run the read option the other night? He's not very good at it, although I think he would def have better numbers under Meyer. I think Harris would do really well in that system though.

Has it ever occurred to you that players improve with better coaching? Jennings could nail the read option if he had a coach who was able to make it second nature for him.

+1

I know that Barrett has gotten a lot better since that game, but it should be talked about how much better the line has gotten, especially considering how little each has started.

Some QB's just don't have 'it.'

I place jennings in that category.

I'll just put it this way. If QBs were swapped LSU beats Bama easily. If Ohio St. had Jennings, there's absolutely no way they beat Michigan St. and probably have another loss tacked on to that.

I'd say he has the potential to be the best. I'm impressed with his decision making and accuracy. He runs the read-option better that Braxton and his accuracy is better also.

My concern is his arm strength. Does have the ability to zip it in there and thread the needle against tight coverage? It didn't seem so against Va Tech.

Wasnt Jennings a backup option for us after we couldn't sign JT Barrett?
