Who has hunted here. I have access to a couple fishing camps in Shell Beach, I was thinking about trying to hunt public land out this way. Is it worth it? and where can I get a detailed map of the area?

It's definitely worth it imo. I think its the best kept secret in the state. Not enough hunters to keep birds flying at times to be honest. Theres a map on the ldwf website. Go check it out and compare it up to google earth.

I've hunted there 5 times last yr. Did well some days and not so good on other days, although some of the bad can be attributed to being a noob (last yr was my second season duck hunting). Some things to note:

-be aware of the tides and the wind. East winds on several days in a row can drain most of the water out and make it impossible to navigate without a mud motor.
-it is a long ride out there. with my 14' boat it's an hour ride to where we hunted last yr.
-as always, do some scouting and your hunting will be much, much better.
