Do you support them? I know a few liberals/democrats that are uncomfortable with them because they contribute to an inequality between private sector workers and government workers. What say you?

I'm assuming that they will love them because they comprise a dependable block of votes for the liberalista candidates.

People have a right to belong to associations of their choice. Do any conservatives want to amend that right for people who work for government?

Does the government have to recognize every association their workers choose?

Certain associations also require people to be a member regardless if the want to or not...

Which public sector associations are those (that require membership)?

Right. I don't believe in legislation that is pro or anti union. Should be between the employer (private or public) and the workers

i love public sector unions because they embody democracy. i know that conservatives and libertarian twats hate democracy and love crony capitalism and corporate authoritarianism, respectively. but public sector unions provide protection, solidarity, and opportunities to collectively bargain for better working conditions against cronies and tyrannical governments.

Union membership should not be mandatory.

There are often political trade offs made that don't reflect the Union itself. I have actually worked inside a Union before and don't subscibe to the alliances if you get my drift?

As a democrat, I do not support public sector unions. I also don't consider myself "progressive" or "liberal." I'd be content if extreme liberals were purged from my party, to be honest.

You really don't seem like a Democrat. Why haven't you switched to independent?

I consider. Myself a progressive. Sometimes these. Unions rip off. The masses by sweetheart deals that no private corp would agree to. The public as a whole gets screwed

We can discuss this sometime in another thread. In short, I want to stay with the party and eventually create a fight. Basically, a "tea party" version for Democrats. Old school, southern dems.
