Looking to get a stand for me and my son to hunt out of together. Mostly hunt public land so stand will get moved around a lot. Thinking about going with a two man ladder but wanted to know if y'all knew of a better way.

I'd go with a portable ground blind personally if you're going to be moving around a lot.

Those 2 man Milliniums are real nice. The Ameristep may be more portable though. Ground blind would be the way to go if where you're going had right of ways or thin woods.

2 man ground blind. If you are sitting in a open stand, you have a different idea of being still than your 12 year old. At least this is what I have found out this year.

Yep, ground blind as others have said.

Has your son hunted anything before? The reason I ask is that still hunting for deer can sometimes not be the best way to introduce someone to the sport owing to the long amounts of still / quiet / cold time involved with the possibility of no action. I know people who were turned off completely after only going once.
Small game hunting (squirrels, rabbits) can be an excellent way to introduce new hunters to the sport.

Yea been squirrel, rabbit, and plenty of duck hunts. Already know that my 6 hour sits will be turned into 1&1/2 hour hunts if I'm lucky.
Most areas I hunt tend to be thick with lots of palmettos, so really need to be off the ground. Best thing I can think of is ladder stands. Just looking for some that are portable.

Ground blind as mentioned by others.
I think it made a world of difference hiding random movement when my girls were younger.
It's a no brainer if you want mobility.

Ground blinds are great i use them with my son, if you do get shooting stickst but if you need to get off the ground I use double leaners but mine stay put they can be he'll to put up. Once up some camo material around shooting rest will hide some of your kids fidgiting.
