Students of baseball history will recall it was said of Eddie Stanky " He can't hit, can't throw, can't run- all he can do is win.
In the 10 games he has started LSU is 8-2, losses to current #1 Miss. State and # 3 Alabama, the latter under controversial circumstances.
Despite all of his shortcomings he has led game winning drives against Arkansas, Florida, Ole Miss and Wisconsin. His play had been good enough to beat Alabama until circumstances outside o f his control cost the game. It was not always pretty but he did enough to win some big games.

All he does is let our running game win. Is that what you meant to type?

Is it too much to ask for good QB play to accompany the defensive unit (and running game) that is actually winning these games?
Stat line stolen from another thread:
Aub: 5/10, 84 yds, 0/0, 41.1 QBR
Fla: 10/21, 110 yds, 1/0, 48.3 QBR
Kent: 7/14, 120 yds, 1/0, 64.2 QBR
Ole Miss: 8/16, 142 yds, 1/2, 29.0 QBR
Bama: 8/26, 76 yds, 1/1, 12.7 QBR

I am not disagreeing that his overall paly is statistically below average, but he somehow finds a way to make just enough big plays to help win the game.

I'm going to have to disagree here. The only reason why he finds a way to make "enough" big plays is because the defense has kept it close.
I don't mean to bash the guy as he is a Tiger and a student athlete, so I guess I should put the blame on the coaches (recruiting, development, etc). Like Skip Bertman once told a pitcher as he was taking him out of the game and the pitcher told him sorry, Bertman said "it's not your fault, I'm the one who thought you could pitch."

You make my point for me - within the context of what they needed him to do he has done it and they won close games as a result. The only close one they lost was Bama and that had so many other variables that allowed Bama to steal the win.
I would concede that if Jennings had played better they may have won, but there were a lot of drops and he ran the offense efficiently. His only interception was due to his receiver slipping.
