yanking on vadals leg and vadal pushes him

this is like watching WWE wrestling when the refs aren't looking at a wrestler doing something illegal, and then happen to catch the "good guy" fighting back

Well in the Alabama instance, I don't think it was a penalty at all. The Alabama WR didn't engage the DB, he just ran deep enough and used the ref some if I recall to where our DBs ran into each other.

ETA: Those WR crossing patterns just seem to be a play we have a lot of trouble with. I don't know if it is the technique we have our DBs play or what. Reminds me of the repeated troubles we had with RB wheel routes in 2003.

Why was Alexander's penalty not a dead ball foul? That looks like the same kind of scenario as Bama got, and would have given us 1st and 10 instead of goal. Just wondering.

Because we already ran our first down play and failed to pick up any yards.

There was pushing and shoving going on after the whistle many times during the game. But they finally decided to call at such a huge moment. Color me shocked.

What in the actual frick?

Y'all do know we ran a play, right? Making it second and goal?

They're not going to penalize us 15 yards, then give is first-and-10 at the 25

i thought bama's WR did a really good job of causing disruption without engaging with the DB

you get a penalty called if the WR goes up and straight blocks the DB

Dural "slips" on the interception? It looked to me like he was making a cut and was shoved down. Another game changer no call at the end of the first half.

Agree. There were plenty of other things all game long that were horrible but this was not one of them. How about the fact that on any critical spot, bama player gets upper body ball spot and LSU player gets knee spot. If you watch the game, this happens all game long. Also, when the ball is in the air, the DB is not allowed a fist full of jersey. Hand fighting is one thing but pulling the jersey should always be called. This should be an easy call yet was missed several times. Also, when the edge rusher is pulled to the ground and his jersey is pulled off his shoulder pad, he was held. Again, saw this all game long and it was called once. Bottom line is the SEC office has a history of protecting the top teams or projected top teams any given year. Bama has been nearly untouchable since Saban arrived. I bet they haven't had 25 holding calls since Saban has been at bama for 8 years.

please stop with the whining about officiating. Some calls go for us, some against us. Some are good, some are bad.

I thought the personal foul on Vadal was a bad call, at least at that point in the game. It certainly changed things for us. But the personal foul on Bama on the 2 yard line in overtime was just as bad, and changed things for them too. But they managing to score a TD anyway.

So stop blaming the refs. It's childish.
