I think he writes great women. Donna, Ainsley, CJ, Mrs Landingham, Andie, Amy, Mac, and Sloan are all great characters.

I loved Charlie's response upon being told there was fear in his eyes . . . "There almost always is"

Charlie Skinner pretty much has all the great rejoinders. God, he is just one of those characters you wish you worked with in real life.

Bump for tonight's episode. Per TV Guide:

quote:

Will refuses to reveal the source of stolen government documents even though he could go to jail for contempt. Meanwhile, Sloan and Mac seach for a last-minute buyer for ACN when Charlie's had it with Lucas.

I really don't like BJ Novak. I have friends who know him IRL and say he's a lot like the characters he plays.

Honestly, I think it'll be a few unless the source actually decides to turn herself in or the government caves after the AP runs with the story.

Why does anyone care that we killed 38 people in some remote African village?

I know that I care that the US fricks around with democratic elections when they don't think they will turn out like they want them to. The US wants to be the city on the hill when it really is just another dominion on earth. Read the Melian Dialogue about how another democracy praised to the skies worked in the reality of its day.

I do have to give a shout out to Charlie's dance down the sidewalk. He gots the funk alright.

An interesting review as well: LINK

Y'all.

I legit teared up starting when the priest asked Will if he wanted to pray.

And I'm not religious. At all.

Something about the look on Will's face when he nodded. He conveyed so much about how he really was feeling scared.

Then that cute, hastily planned wedding kept the tears flowing.

I really HATE that I feel like this show is being cut short, not only it being three seasons but only six episodes for that third and final season.

This season is what it should have been from the start. Such a great show at the moment. I've watched every episode from the beginning and Sorkin was soooo heavy handed to start, I feel like it cost him from this being a lengthy series. Could have been Entourage long imo.

One of the best examples was the Coup d'etat in Chile in 1973.

I think the six episodes will serve it well. They've got a good story to tell and don't need to fill it with fluff to get there. I'd rather a strong six episodes to close it strong than 10 decent episodes. I'm sad this is it, but I think it's closing out very well.

Potential Spoiler Below**********

So looking around on IMDB, I noticed the finale is titled "What Kind of Day Has It Been", which is the same title as the finale in season 1 of West Wing, which was the episode where Bartlet got shot. And then I remembered the season 1 plot where Will was being stalked with death threats and had a bodyguard. And then season 2 and Geneoa hit and it was never mentioned again. I have NO idea if anything will come of that, but the title jogged my memory. We'll find out in 10 days I guess.

It is indeed closing out well. After each episode, I keep saying to myself, "This is one of the best hours of televisions I've ever seen." Despite the brevity of the series, it instantly became one of my GOAT contenders. I do find that everything Will had to say about disgruntled Republicans resonated deeply with me, while it apparently turned off most viewers. Shows like this (high quality cable shows with short seasons) just leave me begging for more episodes. However, this board (and the Sorkin connection) prompted me to watch The West Wing. I'm on season 4. And while it is a very enjoyable series with some amazingly good characters and dialogue, the seasons just seem too long now. Too much fluff to stretch things out. Though the good episodes are REALLY good. Yesterday I was watching and my kid said he could tell that Both shows had the Sorkin stamp on them (mostly due to the witty banter). I told him about the emotional response that the season 1 finale/season 2 opener evoked in me. I made him watch the last 10 minutes of the WW season 1 finale and the first 10 minutes of S2E1. I was getting goose bumps and teary eyes just watching those bits again.
