Just got back home from the game

Without going through the misery of watching a replay, can y'all answer the following questions. Serious replies only please.
1. What was the reason for the officials picking up two flags thrown against Alabama?
2. Did Trey Quinn catch that pass on a key play in the 4th quarter? They ruled it incomplete and it looked like the ball skipped on the ground but others around swear he caught it. The stadium did not have a good replay.
3. Did the Alabama receiver (probably Cooper) catch the pass on a key play in Bama's game tying drive in the 4th quarter? His back was to us in the south end zone so it was hard to tell. Bama quickly spiked the ball on the next play to stop the clock. The replay official did not have time to review the play.
4. On the unsportsmanlike penalty on Vadal Alexander after LSU recovered the fumble on the 6 yard line, the post game show was talking like it was a bullshite call. That it was ticky tack and if anything should have been a no call or offsetting penalties. Is that true or did LSU deserve the penalty?
TIA

1. Saban argued his way out of them.
2. Incomplete pass (trapped it).
3. It was VERY close. Could've been called either way. I, personally, though the receiver trapped it. The no-review was a joke, though. Probably wouldn't have mattered as the evidence would've been considered "inconclusive" since it was originally ruled a catch.
4. Ticky-tack but Vadall should've used better judgment in that situation.

Those of us in the stadium were also wondering why the officials did not stop the action for a review. It was a very key play in the game tying drive.
I am sure all of this was discussed ad nauseum on this board last night.

It has been discussed, yes. But, honestly, they were just single events in a very long string of happenings that decided the game.

Seriously, that is what the CBS announcers said.
I am looking for a more specific reason as to what the penalties actually were initially being called and then what the reasoning for picking up the flags was.
Why can't Les ever argue his way out of penalties? I've seen Saban be able to do this before.

Couldn't Les have challenged this?

How does this even happen? An official obviously saw Pass Interference and Illegal Formation, but somehow he decides he didn't see what he thought he saw?

Les argued with officials several times last night. I think it was the most animated I have ever seen him with refs. It didn't help.

1. One may have been P/U due to un-catchable pass; the other may have been due to Saban crying - that was very questionable.
2. Not a catch.
3. Debatable - should have been a booth review.
4. Shouldn't have been flagged due to game situation but official had the right to throw it.

Some on this board said that Les's sideline was telling him it was a catch. He may not have wanted to risk the TO.

Gary Danielson said that the refs should not be deciding the outcome of the game at that point and that there shouldn't have been a call against LSU.

I think it was becoming obvious that LSU was not going to get the ball back with any significant time remaining. It was a do or die possession. Using a time out to challenge the play would have been worth it.

That is exactly what the post game discussion was about. That the foul was not enough to justify the flag especially considering the situation.

Honestly all the pushing and shoving after plays was going on the entire game. The officials never threw a flag thoughout the game, to try and send a message to both teams. Rather, they wait to a very critical time in the game, on a play where Bama was shoving just as much or more than LSU, and then the flag LSU.

Have we ever won a squeaker with Ritter as the ref? Seems like that shithead has the LSU/Bama game every year.
I hate that bug eyed motherfricker. The minute I saw him walk out, I knew we either had to beat their arse, or we'd lose. If it stayed close, we were done for.

I have to agree; when I see the bug eyed sob on the field I know something weird and bad is gonna happen to us. bama got everything questionable and we got fricked whenever possible, especially that call at the end. that was unmitigated bull shite and changed the outcome of the game.

He also said he did not agree with the call.
