We had 5 current NFL starters on that offense. FIvE. So were we maybe a little to giddy to give Cam all the credit? Not saying Cam won't be good in years to come, but holy shite 5 guys who were going to start in the NFL in 9 months on the same offense

Well, to be quite honest, without cam Mett is probably not starting in the NFL today.

This ls what made me start the thread. They aren't just in the Nfl, they are there and being very productive.

I know that is the company line, but is there no chance Mett just did the normal improvement from a first year starter to an improved player?

very likely a combination, not necessarily dogging Cam, but I think he gets a lot more credit than his resume earns him, jmo

I mean for Christ sake we had a receiver who is dominating the Seahawks, a receiver who had 7 catches and over 50 yards against the lions, a running back averaging 5 yards a carry, a Qb who is averaging over 200 yards and 60% in his first two starts, and a starting OG. I mean Christ on a cracker is that what it will take to be somewhat competent on offense? There are teams that would have set every single Ncaa record with that combination

problem is that our timing is such that we never have a skilled, competent offense paired with our usual killer D at the same time, one or the other is always "developing," frustrating

Yeh I get that, but I'm just looking at the offense for now. They sucked as well in a few games last year which is mind blowing

Seems like Bama only takes a few games to develop new players

It's called college football. Every team has to deal with this except for those once in a decade type seasons, like Miss State currently is having with a very experienced team.

You can't just blame "youth and inexperience" every single year. That offense last year should 11 or 12 games for the Tigers.

that it is, in our NC years there was enough balance that if one or the other was having an off game (O or D,) the other had the ability to pick up the slack, as it stands, we have no room for error, our D is doing good this year but they're on the field way too much, and most of the time our offense can't find its arse using both hands

that offense should have been looked back on as one of the best offenses on NCAA history. Instead, it is merely looked at as a very good SEC offense

yep, and that's why we love it, and keep coming back, it would be pretty boring if there weren't so many variables
