How long until we offer this kid?

Watched the cox 4 game to observe our stud rb in Derrius, and was super impressed. However, there is another d1 RB at Catholic, and I am wondering how long before we start pursuing this guy..

Freshman run at 50 sec mark

Freshman Highlights
He has nice runs from this year, but no condensed highlight. Can find his runs though his hudl.

Yea Clyde is extremely smart and high character guy. He went to Catholic as an 8th grader and his father is a Navy Seal or something like that. He's also a state champ weightlifter. He may be small, but he's suppsoedly a monster in the weight room.

I'm not sure if we are pursuing him or what... He's still just a sophomore.

And check out this run that grabbed national attention... It says vs St Michaels, but that's not St Michaels. Not sure who that's against. Maybe the Breaux Bridge scrimmage...

Freshmen are not allowed on the varsity team at Catholic High under Weiner. Not even Warrick Dunn or Travis Minor. Edwards-Helaire was the first freshman in Coach Weiner's 27 or so year history to even be allowed on the varsity team, much less significantly play. I asked Coach Weiner about it and he said Edwards-Helaire played 8th grade football at CHS and did very well. Weiner said he was basically too much of a beast to play another year of freshman football - people would get hurt. Going to CHS in 8th grade and his dad being a Seal were contributing factors to the decision.

That says a lot.

Didn't know he played freshman ball at catholic. Didn't think Weiner would throw him out there just like that

Glad to see coach bend the rules slightly. We've had players that could have possibly contributed as freshmen, but i think the downgrade in overall team talent also helped Clyde (not to say he wasn't skilled enough). But better players have came through those doors that didn't play or start til their junior or senior years dude to the plethora of talent past teams had.
