I'm looking at moving to Houston in the next year or so. It's just me, and I'll be in the 50-60k range. What are some good single apartments or sections of Houston that I won't get stabbed/raped/probed/American Horror Storied?

Traffic can be a nightmare. Houston is very neighborhood centric. Where will you be working?

Houston is big. Where you will be working might play a big role in this decision. I love Southeast Houston.

I'd be working from home, but I'd want to be close to the 5100 section of Richmond Avenue.

Never felt the same about Houston after one of my college roommate's got killed (along with his three young children) when struck by a drunk Salvodoran driving an 18 wheeler. It has been a long time, but I remember the funeral like it was yesterday. His wife watched them burn up. Firefighters could do nothing. It was terrible.

I'm moving there this month. Got a good place in the heights/ rice military area.

That's the Galleria area. Very single friendly/nightlife area. A little high dollar, but you can probably find something in that area or in the Heights on then other side of 610. Personally, I would look in Memorial City area, but that will be pricey also.

Honestly chin, I am always really nervous about drunks on the highways around here. Used to think La was bad, but Houston is really bad. The cans like to start drinking early

Airports and bus stations leaving to all points east and west are the best parts of Houston.
