Election showed that America "wants to see compromise in DC"

I've seen more than just handful of media members on the left say this in spinning the election results.
Many have said that the results show that Americans are tired of gridlock and want to see both sides work together.
I absolutely agree, though not the way many on the left seem to think.
I believe America said we want Obama and the Dems to give in an many issues and compromise with Rebuplicans. If the Rs bend and give in too much, it will be seen as a slap in the face to the people who elected them.
America does want compromise, most just want the left to be the side that does it.

Clearly if voters were peachy keen with the direction the left has taken us and angry at GOP obstructionists they would have voted in the Dems or at least kept the status quo.
Not only did that not happen, it didn't happen in a huge way.

I know a lot of folks are excited about "repealing Obamacare"
I get it, Obamacare sucks
My wife is a public school teacher, we have great insurance
Under the new health care laws, our benefits have decreased dramatically and costs have gone up
obamacare needs to be shite canned, I know.
BUT, we can't repeal it now.
Even if we can strong arm 6 dem senators into breaking a filibuster, Obama will veto
We need to concentrate on picking apart some of the most pernicious aspects of it, sure, but an outright vote to repeal would not do us any good
What we need to do is send popular job creating measures to the WH, like the Keystone Pipeline expansion.
Make the worthless SOB veto good laws that would create jobs
Make the Senate Dems pick a side
Winning in 2016 is more important than symbolic votes in 2014 and 2015 that will accomplish nothing...

bullshite. They were against Obama. GOP needs to force the agenda

I am sure the GOP closing in on 70 state legislature bodies under their control is all about "compromise".

Another interesting tidbit.
Oregon rejected allowing illegals to obtain Drivers' Licenses.
It was 70% against.
In Oregon.

The nation are tired of a narcissistic idiot running our country into the ground.
And are tired of Reid who refused to allow votes to be held, THUS NO CHANCE FOR COMPRIMISE

The country is disturbed by Executive Power! They want the President in check, that's the bottom line. If the President resorts to more executive orders especially on immigration then that leaves the door open for someone to run on restoring the Legislative Branch in 2016.
Other than that, this election was about nothing. There were no policy specifics in this election.

1) when you hear the word "compromise" or the phrase "work together" coming from anyone who lives or works in DC, or anyone on the network news, it means "agree with democrats." Democrats are never expected to compromise with Republicans.
2) the Republicans have been labeled as the party of "No" for years now. They've been accused by Democrats and the media of being obstructionists whose only goal was to thwart President Obama and Democrat party advances - and they were elected in historic numbers on Tuesday.
3) we heard over and over again that the "government shutdown" would doom the Republicans, yet the Republicans, who according to the media and the DC talking heads bear sole responsibility for the "shutdown," were swept into senate control and an expanding house majority on Tuesday.
4) 100% of newly elected senators (plus Cassidy) campaigned on repealing Obamacare.

Send as many common sense laws to Obama and make him veto it.
Immigration "reform" as defined by the dems is amnesty and by the conservatives it means protecting our borders and enforcing the current laws.
Eta: only up this early on a Saturday am to head to BR to see the Tigers. Beat Bama!

And by "compromise" - they mean "Republicans do whatever Obama wants" - the same definition of compromise that Obama has.

I agree totally - Congress needs to flood the WH with common sense legislation and force Obama to either sign it - hooray for the USA - or to veto it and then highlight the DEMs that vote to uphold the veto. We can hopefully take out those obstructionists in the next wave.
This election has brought me out of the funk I have experienced since 2012. I still feel as though we rushing to destruction, but at least I can feel some braking action.
2016 is critical - we must take the WH and hold the congress. If not, it is over.

I had a calendar reminder this morning that gun season in ark opened today. Actually saw a black bear from my back porch when I was up there 4 weeks ago.
