I never really got into the Bitcoin threads but was the fall of silk road pretty much the end for Bitcoin?

It was a bubble. I don't know that silk road had much to do with it. But it certainly didn't help.

In this thread he predicted they would be $5250 by year end 2014. They are like $300. Down from over $1000 at some point.

More accurately, it was more like one of those mob run pump and dump stocks.

The same buyers selling to each other and themselves to nudge the price up until a few suckers, ahem, "forward thinking investors" drop in and buy high.
