Obama won Asian voters 71% to 29% in 2012.

Once racial allegiances are broken minorities will naturally gravitate to the right based on these simple facts: 1.) they like to minimize their taxes as much as the majority, 2.) they are generally more socially conservative than the establishment right, 3.) when they realize that he Democrat party stands for less freedom they will move away from that party, and 4.) GOP outreach on immigration reform and mandatory minimums (looking at you Rand Paul).

Greg Abbot won 44% of the Latino vote in Texas.

There's also been progress in Georgia.

quote:

In Georgia, where a small but rapidly growing population of Hispanic citizens now represents 4 percent of voters, Gov. Nathan Deal, a Republican, was re-elected, winning 47 percent of Hispanic voters while his Democratic challenger received 53 percent. In the hard-fought Senate race in Georgia, David Perdue, a conservative Republican businessman, received 42 percent of the Latino votes while his Democratic opponent, Michelle Nunn, got 57 percent.

Those are important gains that the republicans are making. There is still a long way to go, but the ground game is apparently much improved. They are on the right track if they keep this up.

Hopefully they're realizing that when Democrats talk about helping minorities, they aren't referring to east asians.

The Asian community voting Democrat makes absolutely no sense to me. Everyone family I have ever known of Asian decent share very little to nothing in common with the Democrat platform.

The "Great Shift" will transcend all races. Rand Paul's 'Leave-Me-Alone' Party is gonna have widespread appeal.

This would be fantastic. How can you not sell people, especially new citizens, on the idea that you can run your business and not be fricked with at every turn?

I think another question is if the Democratic Party can hold their minority numbers through increased turnout if they run a white candidate? Can they even run a white candidate if one happens to be the best?

This also shows republicans getting 10% of AA vote. I think someone else posted it was 6%. I'd like to believe this poll, but it might be a touch skewed.

The hauntingly-gorgeous and ultra- femininely-diminutive Mrs. Pimp is an Ornamental (her country of origin is called Vietnam apparently).

Being from Vietnam, she has approximately 962 immediate family members . Every one of them over the age of 30 votes Republican. Virtually every one of them below the age of 30 voted for Obama in 2008. In 2012 far less of them did. This year, almost none of them did. This is cool because many of them live in North Carolina and work at really great jobs and it reflects their disillusionment with liberalism in general.

I'm not sure the Democratic Party could win more than 40% in a national election anymore.

Liberalism is a sugar high. It's not long lasting.

I know Obama has a great GOTV campaign, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't on the ballot this year.

jjk....I understand what you mean.

I have also gotten much less democrat-friendly after I grew up, got a real job, and moved out of my parents house.

Those numbers could be slanted. 1% seems a bit short.
