I realize we're supposed to have learned from the LeBron/Heat beginnings...

... but the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently not very good at basketball. I feel like the Heat looked pretty atrocious at times during their first 18 games together, but I have a hard time remembering/believing that they looked as disfunctional and ill-fitting as the 2014/15 Cavs have thus far.

Love looks like a misfit and the supporting cast has been horrible. Still super early but it will be interesting as it develops. Obviously the East being horrendous won't hurt - if this team was in the West they might be jockeying for a 4 seed at best.

Utah currently outplaying, outhustling, and outclassing Cleveland at the half.

I'm just confused about what the hell is going on with LeBron. He just looks disinterested at times.

His stats are fine but he's horrendous on defense - worse than his reputation even.

I respected his offensive game so much that I really believed that between he, LeBron and Irving they'd avoid the slow start that Miami had. I thought he'd be a better "glue keeping the offense on track" than Bosh was at first in Miami.

All he does on offense is stand around the perimeter. He isn't even trying in defense either. It's been pathetic.

Not watching but the box score makes it look like Cleveland is playing terribly defensively. Jazz shooting almost 60% from the field

Yeah. I think LeBron and Blatt want this to be a team without obvious flaws that doesn't have to rely on LeBron dominating to win. I think they want to be like the Spurs. But that is going to take a lot of time. At some point, if it isn't working, they will patch it together and be a Top 4 seed.

It looks like he's frustrated with Kyrie.

I don't know why you're calling out Love's defense when no one on the entire team has played a lick of it yet.

With Miami, even when they didn't look cohesive on offense early on, they were still playing solid team defense.

The Jazz are outhustling Cleveland and getting a ton of second chance buckets. They're also hitting all of their open 3's while Cleveland is missing all of their open 3's. Every time that happens it's a 6-point swing.

Gordon Heyward blocked LeBron at one end and then hustled back and slammed it home on the other end for the play of the season so far.

Seems that way.

No energy on the defensive end. Multiple plays where he would have thrown down some huge dunk in the past and taking tough layups instead.

The other stuff like his assist #'s will go up as they get adjusted to each other.

Miami was 8-7 to start his first year. Thet then went on like a 20-2 run. Lets give Cleveland at least 15 games before starting this shite.

This always had the possibility of blowing up. I think a few people on here criticized Love as an overrated stat machine and were grilled for it. Even some Cavs fans say Kyrie has a problem with ball hogging. Add in shitty D, Bron and his gang pointer fingers at everyone, and it could get ugly. I still think they finish second in the garbage east, but there is no way that squad can win a finals.

Also, Kyrie still sucks on defense.

LeBron is really going to regret leaving the sunny skies and championships of Miami for the freezing futility of Cleveland.

He signed a short deal for a reason. He gone.
