Galaxy s5 auto brightness issue

Not an issue I guess but why is the auto brightness so damn dim. Is there any way to adjust the brightness setting of the automatic brightness?
Also. Can I get rid of the damn power saving icon on the notification bar?

that 'auto dim' replacement app that was free at amazon looked pretty decent..not sure if still free

I'm not sure why you are being so dense...To get to these options, I tap an icon...They are then all in one place..Sounds like yours are each on a different screen
