Has anyone been to the Saints Tampa game in Tampa. Me and my family are going to be in Orlando for vacation from December 25th - December 30th and thinking about making the drive to the game. How is the atmosphere? How is the tailgating? How much is parking? Thanks

Even the pirate ship has become so cliche that it's almost depressing. For a team to have such a cool theme (who doesn't like pirates, right?), you'd think they were the Tampa Bay Geriatrics; perfect team for old folks. 12:00 game is over by lunch time, no hope, no speed, and about as exciting as a 3:00 nap.

There is a lot of open field around the stadium, so they have a lot of tailgaiting. You can park for around 10-20 within a short walk from the field. The further you are willing to walk the cheaper it is.
They are friendly enough with Saints fans. I wouldn't expect to have your car messed with, or to get much of anything verbally from the Tampa fans. Saints fans will be well represented there. I like the stadium itself, very large concourses.
I think it's odd that at the top of each section they have a guy whose sole job is to raise and lower a flag when Tampa is in the red zone. Actually it's a pretty cool gig for a fan.

This I agree with.

Which doesn't happen very often.

Went last year. Atmosphere is shite (Crowd is 50/50 between Saints and Bucs). Loudest thing in stadium is canon. Tailgating is shite. Don't remember paying for parking.

Cool stadium though

Zero atmosphere.

Very depressing place.

Possibly the worst place to see a Saints away game.

I'd put it at the bottom of the list of places I've seen a Saints away game at:

Astrodome (vs Oilers) and Reliant (vs Texans)
Cowboys (old and new)
Falcons (Fulton County and GeorgiaDome)
Bengals (Paul Brown Stadium)
Nashville
Tampa (Ray Jay)

Ehhhh. Tampa is a pretty funny city for a bunch of dudes. Some pretty good restaurants, beach not far away, world famous strip clubs.

The stadium is pretty nice. Just no atmosphere whatsoever.

I like the stadium, easy to find food and stuff. The atmosphere is just awful though, tailgating is just meh. With it being a Saints game it may not completely suck with probably a large # of Saints fans.

Hopefully the weather doesn't suck though since the game is Dec. 28th, around that time when I went to the Outback Bowl last year it was pretty rainy and cold that whole week.

Thanks all. Who Dat. Can't wait to take my son to this game. Is parking expensive? Also, are there any restaurants or places around the stadium that you can get beer instead of paying $10.00 for a beer.
