1984: LSU 16, Alabama 14. Ronald Reagan (R) demolishes Walter Mondale (D).

1988: LSU 19, Alabama 18. George H.W. Bush (R) defeats Michael Dukakis (D).

1992: Alabama 31, LSU 11. Bill Clinton (D) defeats George H.W. Bush (R).

1996: Alabama 26, LSU 0. Clinton (D) defeats Bob Dole (R).

2000: LSU 30, Alabama 28. George W. Bush (R) defeats Al Gore (D).

2004: LSU 26, Alabama 10. George W. Bush (R) defeats John Kerry (D).

2008: Alabama 27, LSU 21. Barack Obama (D) defeats John McCain (R).

2012: Alabama 21, LSU 17. Barack Obama (D) defeats Mitt Romney (R).

LSU and the Republicans go hand in hand. Will the big Republican night spring LSU to a victory over Alabama on Saturday?

I'd be more apt to base my confidence on elections if the game followed Republican midterms in a similar fashion.

That being said, we gonna win.

Good work. I knew this trend existed and you spelled it out.

I hope it continues.

If Republicans have to win in order for LSU to win...well I guess I have to cheer for Bama

vote for whoever you will, the view never changes. May as well enjoy life and not worry yourself about the petty nonsense you have such little say in.

How does this help us in a mid term election?

1986: LSU 14, Bama 10. GOP loses 5 in House, loses 8 in Senate
1990: Bama 24, LSU 3. GOP loses 8 in house, loses 1 in Senate
1994: Bama 35, LSU 17. Dems lose 54 in house, lose 8 in Senate
1998: Bama 22, LSU 16. Dems gain 5 in House, 0 in Senate
2002: Bama 31, LSU 0. GOP gains 8 in House, gains 2 in Senate
2006: LSU 28, Bama 14. GOP loses 30 in House, loses 6 in Senate
2010: LSU 24, Bama 21. Dems lose 63 in House, lose 6 in Senate

I don't see any trend there, my friend.

Please don't equate team sports with politics.

Besides the fact that it's not a Presidential election year, your correlation -however inaccurate- is more appropriate to the Poli board, if presented inversely.
