Mary will get just enough. Orleans and a few usual precincts around the State of Louisiana wait until the end to deliver....go figure.

Oh, and thanks Col Rob......

Edit: Mary won the night and beat all others in Orleans by 76,000. Every time. Every time.

Cassidy will need a high voter turnout to win and that might be what does him in. Especially with election day being on a Saturday during hunting season.

Not necessarily. Low turnout will be Mary's friend and she can use the GOP wins tonight as a rallying cry to get Dems to the polls.

The reason low turnout is her friend is:
1. Name recognition for the idiots that just vote for names they recognize
2. I don't see Maness voters coming out in sufficient numbers to give Cassidy a win.
3. I would bet many of the Cassidy votes were much more against Mary than for Cassidy. I don't think that's enough to get enough of these voters out to the polls again.

Jefferson and EBR are larger than Orleans. And EBR will have District 6 runoff.

Mary is done.

Why wouldn't they? They need any win they can get and the chances to get anything else between now and 2016 are going to be extremely slim. With that, I'm expecting an onslaught of Mary ads.

I think Landrieu will have a harder time getting her supporters back out than the people who are pissed off at her and want her out.

Good point.

I'll be really interested in seeing the numbers in "Acadiana".

She's always done well there. If she took a beating there, she's toast.

Too many Catholics who don't like what Obama has done to the Catholic Church.

She won 25 or so parishes out of the 64. With most of the Maness votes, Cassidy would win a lot of the 25 in the runoff---if his voters show up at the polls. It all depends on turnout, plus the big push Orleans always gives Mary from the graveyards and nursing homes.
