Ps4 or XBOX 1?

I am sure there will plenty of pointing fingers and laughing at this thread but I'm hoping to salvage a few honest opinions before it's done. I am buying my son a game system for Christmas and I am out of touch these days with the gaming world. Have done a little research and ps4 seems to be a slightly better value at this time. TIA for any suggestions.

UH posted a PS4 bundle with The Last of Us and GTA5 for $400 today. That's outstanding imo.
Xbox One will get a price drop to $350.
They both have subscriptions to play online.
I'd go with the PS4 because of the bundle. But I'd recommend getting him what most of his friends have.

PS4. PS+ is an exceptional service. More people own PS4s. Bigger exclusives are coming to PS4.

Others
These easily cancel out Sunset Overdrive. The only other big exclusive that I find interesting is Tomb Raider and that's a timed exclusive. The only other thing is Halo master collection and I don't get what the big deal over that is.

I love XBox and don't like the PS4.
BUT...
Get whichever one that most of his friends have if you want him to get the most enjoyment.

Do people know others who play video games personally? I know one other guy I can talk about games with and I work with him. With everyone else, gaming is seen as a very bad thing.

Have both and use the PS4 more for gaming, Xbone for everything else.

Pretty much but I don't even use all the integration features for various reasons. And the play to XBOX feature from my laptop with movies also plays to my smart tv

PS4 has been a little disappointing thus far. Not nearly enough to regret the purchase, but I haven't been blown away.
1. There have been little to no exclusives, which I understand is normal for early gen but it has been a year and still not much. IT has been dissapointing how many exclusives have been delayed that were promised to be released by now. I place a lot of blame on Sony for that.
2. PS+ free games are beggining to suck balls. PSN i'n general is still inferior internet gaming service, and now they charge you.
3. Sony is lazy (or at least appears to be) knowing they have a large lead. Their first major update not only caused a lot of problems, but it took them a year to add themes and some share features. LOLZ

XB1 is the living room all-in-one device. PS4 is the true gaming system. Grab one of them PS4 bundles!

FW2.01 went out today and fixed rest mode, not sure what else.
