I remember during Rita some of the people I went to highschool with that were the biggest losers and hoods that continued on like that after really stepped up to the plate helping others especially the elderly and handicapped. On the flip side two guys that to my knowledge have always been straight arrows got busted stealing lawn mowers and 4 wheelers from houses that were evacuated. It's great to see the best in a person rise to the top during a bleak situation but infuriating to see the worst show because of convenience and the misfortune of others.

They feel guilty for selling generators at 2000% markup earlier that day.

It is when meaningful decisions with consequences are made. A person has the opportunity to show that he is willing to sacrifice to help others or to hurt others to protect himself. You don't know what decisions people will make until they are faced with them.

That's what I believe. When the chips are really down its hard to tell who you could count on until shite really starts happening.
