Basically said voting was a civic duty and an audit in my neighborhood showed who voted and who didn't. It went on the ask how I would feel if my neighbors knew I didn't vote. The letter had a chart with my family voters and my next door neighbors (with names and addresses). It showed the wife and I and my neighbors voted in 2010, 2012 with 2014 pending. My daughter was a DID NOT VOTE in red letters for 2010. (She was 16 years old at the time) It was signed as "a Project of the Illinois Voter Program" No contact email, phone or physical address. Mailed from a PO Box in Overland Park, Kansas.

I am pissed!

This.

If that doesn't work, take them to court. Surely there is some case law on this subject right?

At what? The fact that whether or not you vote is a matter of public record - or the fact that someone told you that it was?

I am pissed that someone sent me this bullshite letter with my name, my families names along with my neighbors and they won't even say who they are. Public record is public record. Don't send me this shite and lie about who you are and make no way for me to call your arse on it.

So, public shaming is alright in this instance?

What about fat people public shaming? That's for the good of society. I'd actually claim that it would have a much more tangible benefit too.

No. You can't tell people how to live their lives...unless they are choosing not to vote, then it's okay.
