It's not panic button time, but Omer Asik is not living up to the hype so far

Just saying. Early reviews are not overly positive.

This dude brings a very particular set of skills to this team. One might say very limited set of skills. He's big and occasionally basketballs bounce to him when he's standing under the basket. If he catches that basketball that bounces towards him seems to be 50/50 as it just sort of bounces off the bricks that are his hands a lot of the time.

I won't bring up the free throws or his total inability to perform even the most basic fundamental offensive basketball move.

If this is our big answer for this roster this season...yikes.

Everyone was raving over him after the first game.

Everyone just needs to chill out. The sky is not falling. 1-2 in an 82 game season is fine, shite.

He had 14/17 in game 1, and 13/9 in game 2.

But he is clumsy as frick.

It would be nice if we didn't resign him, eg opted out,and we sign gasol.

Really, we should give the guy and the team a few more games before popping the cyanide capsules.

He has no offensive game what-so-ever and everybody knew that before the season started.

I've explained many times what he does on offense.

He sets good screens. He will drop 80% of the passes thrown to him. He has no post-up game. He can put back open dunks off of rebounds or make an open dunk from a dish-off.

That's about it.

I know he put up solid numbers, and I'm sure he'll get double doubles often this season

But come on guys...I'm not crazy here? This guy's offense? Am I way off here?

he was 4th in the league in RPG and was blocking 2.5 shots per game coming into tonight. Not to mention he was making 68% of his field goal attempts

There's being bad on offense, and there's whatever the frick that was tonight

I mean I knew he wasn't gonna light it up but whoa, that was terrible. He's so...clumsy.

we dont need any offense from him, but in 3 games, he's been rather productive and efficient.

We knew he couldnt shoot free throws. So Im not sure what the point of this is.

What's the surprise? He's been better then expected on offense. And he's averaging like 12 boards a game

His offense is bad, but he isn't making money because of his offense.

I don't think anyone believes we brought him here for his offense.

You should have already known that. He has stone hands.

His points will come off of put-backs and when somebody drives in and the defense collapses and he gets a little dish-off pass for a dunk.

And he might clean up a rebound on a fast break.

That's about it.

coming into tonight he had taken 18 shots and made 12 of them. Averaging 13.5 PPG

His career average is 5 PPG. And career best in a season is 10. So yea, Id say he had been better than advertised

Let's just calm down. Omer Asik had s great first game, decent second game, and a not too bad third game. it's just three games though. He just needs to calm down and make free throws (as does everyone). Also, in the past two games, I have noticed he just isn't getting those fifty-fifty balls and that has truly made the difference in the game
