I am headed to Boulder on Wednesday... flying into Denver. I wanted to know what the best beer worth picking up is.

I am thinking of just bringing an extra bag and filling with beer and using it as my checked bag. Is this a bad idea? Should I just ship it to myself?

Just wanted to know if there was anything that I had to have...

Thanks

I was always partial to Oskar Blues. It was about a third of the price 5 years ago when I was living there than it is now in CA. If it was me, I'd fiil my bag with that.

Crooked Stave is another good one. I just flew back from Chicago with about a dozen bottles in my suitcases. Put them in ziploc bags and wrap in dirty clothes.

Also shipped 5 boxes. Expect shipping cost equivalent to about $2-3/bottle additional. For my money, it's worth it to get really good beer I can't get here.

Oskar Blues is all cans. So no need to wrap anything up.

and it sales out in a day or two so unless it arrives when he does he aint getting any...

As to what to look for to bring back all depends on what kinds of beer you like.

I can't say any beer would be worth me packing in my luggage to bring back...just drink up while there and go back each year for another round...

Eh, I usually pack a 35lb bag and can pretty easily find some great beers that we don't/won't ever get in LA. Not too big of a deal to grab some.

Much cheaper than buying online or shipping.

Hit up Avery. Uncle Jacobs and Black Eye have been sitting on a few bottle shop shelves. And of course they have Rumpkin and PumpKYn out right now, all barrel aged brews. They are all really good.

I disagree. I always bring back beer, chocolate, and jerky.
