Does anybody actually like the sound of that? Don't get me wrong, Harry Reid has to go... but I don't see a massive improvement with mooseknuckle chin in Reid's stead. He's done about as much to damage conservatism as Reid, only it's disguised because of the R next to his name.

frick him.

Yeah, I'd much rather see someone like Cruz or Rand Paul as majority leader. But anyone is better than that fricking piece of shite Reid.

I just want to see Reid give up the gavel. He has been a tyrant and a one man veto for Obama.

I hope his new office is next to a fish market dumpster.

Hell no, as much as I don't like the sound of "Speaker Boner".... But like others said, I don't think it is near as bad as "Majority Leader Reid"

Jack Welch was just on CNBC saying "We will see who the obstructionists are if the Repubs take the Senate... Reid has abused his power and shelved all of the Bills the Republicans have put forth"

This is not the last election. We have to put out the fire started and fanned by the democrats. Vote against ANYONE with a D behind their name. Send a message. Then we can work on the pansy Republicans like Boener and McConnell

Agreed. Is there a way the Republicans can take back the Senate and have McConnell lose? What does it take to have the Senate Majority leader changed?

Started by the Dems? A majority of the issues in Washington are at the hands of the Republicans too.

Its an establishment issue, not an R vs D issue

I've already said, I will not vote for an R or D in any election aside from Presidential... And that would be a worst case scenario, hold my nose and pull the lever.

You can thank Republican leadership for that one, especially Boner

Senate Majority Leader is elected. It's possible for someone else to win the position but it would take hard core lobbying and deal making to get the votes.

Mitch McConnel is what's wrong with the Republican party. We need a firebrand that'll call it like it is fight for what the people that put him there believe.

For the sake of argument, McConnell is a good parliamentarian and seems to know majority leader is just the titular head of 50+ prima donnas of which a subset have to survive in purple states. Weakest link and all that.

Sessions, Cruz, Lee are like nuclear-tipped artillery shells. Sessions is my fav BTW, but he's too hardcore to be leader.

I agree, but we need hardcore in limited doses.

We don't need hardcore. We need sensible people who will refuse to compromise when everything is on the line, work towards smart compromises when appropriate, and go against the conservative/GOP mantra when necessary.

Rand Paul is the only guy who does this with regularity.

McConnell has a chance to take away the major issues for Dems going into 2016

Immigration and Minimum Wage

He can help clear the path for Rand

Yeah, I'm NOT a fan of McConnell. I also believe any of these appealing Jr. senators are really out of the question for Majority Leader. So with that unsaid rule in place my pick would go to Jeff Sessions. He's not my favorite, but at least he's very articulate, smart (especially on judicial appointments) and strong on immigration reform.

I think Boehner is a pansy, but McConnell is a rabid beast when it comes to conservatives and keeping power for his friends.
