Will the debt ceiling not get raised in a few months? Will they repeal Obamacare? Will they shut down the runaway executive orders? Will they block radicals from being appointed to cabinet positions/the courts? Will they cut current spending levels (instead of thumping their chests over cutting spending increases)?

If the answer is unclear or no, then why cheer for them? Why not let the Dems have control so they can at least take full credit for flushing our way of life down the toilet? Then, as things get ugly, enough people's eyes may open ever-so-slightly and they'll move farther right. Perhaps we can have an era of fiscal conservatism. This switching back and forth between democrat progressives and republican progressives every 8 years gives us the illusion of change, yet we steadily march down the same road.

You guys keep cheering for your teams. I'll let the democrats and low infos have their way until we cross the pain tolerance threshold and a majority of people are ready for real change.

Well, you make a good point. But I'll keep voting for what I think is right. It's all I can do.

They will send a bill to Obama who will veto it.

Will they shut down the runaway executive orders?

how can the legislative body do that?

They better or they'll get tossed come 2016.

You are correct on this point.

This is what really matters in this election. Five of the SCOTUS justices will be stepping down in the coming years and being able to block any Sotomayor or Kagan type appointments for the next two is pretty important. If the R's take the Senate now and the Presidency in 2016, the Court can be locked down for 30 years.

What are you laughing at? He stated facts and what would happen in a hypothetical scenario that's absolutely possible.

Block leftist appointments and tax reform would be a good start.

Possible movement on immigration. Leave healthcare until Obo is gone. But, then they better have a better plan or there's no chance or sense in repeal.

I am a conservative, just look at my past, but I am not voting, nothing is going to change if the repulicrats win.

So you don't think there are enough local races of interest to get up off the couch to go vote? True story, the wife and I waited to the last minute to make up our minds about going to vote. Jumped in the truck, voted and was back home in 20 minutes. A local council member that we both voted for won her race by two votes, 466-464.

It does make a difference sometimes.

Possible yes.

But SCOTUS history is full of supposedly conservative justices that 'grew' to tote the leftist agenda.

You can't make guarantees with lifetime appointments.
