It's not terrible.

Agreed. They did a lot of stuff right in that movie. As a childhood TMNT fan, I was not disappointed.

They overdid Shredder IMO.

In a movie about mutant turtles he was still too over the top.

I thought he was pretty badass, personally.

He looked more suited to be in a Transformer movie than TMNT

Also, I hated the whole turtles being bullet proof

I liked the movie outside of those few things

The bullet proof thing I agree with.

ETA: the only thing I really disliked, though.......Splinter learning karate from a book he found on the ground. There had to be something better than that they could have done.

He was literally just a transformer. I would've respected the movie more if they called it TMNT v Megatron and just did a straight crossover.

I didn't like it. It as just too over the top in too many aspects.

I kinda liked it. One thing they did fairly right was making it short. I dont think I would have like it if it went for 2 hours.

I think they got the comedy right. I also think they got the action scenes and the fighting scenes right. They looked great, IMO.

As someone who grew as a huge fan I didn't think it was that bad. I was very entertained.

Of course I grew up on the original cartoon which I have gotten my 4 yr old onto as well. An he loves the original live action films, watches secrets of the ooze several times a month. The new movie can be appreciated if you take in the context as a piece of the whole puzzle.

SPOILERS!!!!

So I redbox this movie today. That was probably the worst turtle movie ever. I went in knowing the turtles look horrible. Growing up with the franchise though I wanted to see how they did with the story. I guess my biggest problem is how much they overdid everything.

- The turtles with insane super strength that could be shot pretty much anywhere. Not to mention their arm strength.

-Sometimes they were huge, later they looked like the size of a human when they get in a car.

-Shredder with the swiss army knife arms. His fist would never make contact with how long the blades ended up being.

-The glasses on Donatello were a distraction. Just looked horrible.

-I get it cowabunga was a toss back to the original but it was used at a bad time.

-Lastly, the cheesy Raphael speech at the end was way over the top. Thought this was a love story at that point.

I can enjoy a kid movie but this was just horrible.

It's not terrible at all, although it is fashionable to hate it just bc Bay's name appears.

I went into this with high hopes and tempered expectations, and I thought it was pretty fricking horrible. I was more than disappointed in it.

I'll agree that the shredder blades were bad, and I hated Donatellos glasses and backpack thingy.

Still, the action was fun.

The noses didn't bother me. Real turtles have noses, and after 30 secs I didn't even notice them.

Splinter teaching himself ninja from a book was dumb but not a big deal.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and speculate that most of the people who hated this movie either, 1) didn't like TMNT as a kid. Or 2) did, but now don't enjoy the older movies anymore.
