A couple from me (nothing about Gordon, he's not worth the effort):

-AD/Asik/Anderson is a top 3 frontcourt, and will win us a lot of games

-Holiday looked as much better vs Mavs, which made me feel a lot better.

-The first half defense last night was embarrassing. They got it together in the 2nd, but man that was terrible.

-Reek might be a ball hog, but dude is a player. I will never have anything bad to say about you Reek. You're my boy.

-Omer Asik is good, but holy shite he has terrible hands. And cannot shoot free throws.

-Is Monty going to play Ajinca this year? We got rid of Smith for this dude, and now he doesn't even get minutes? I want answers on this one.

-This bench is so...so bad. We have to make a move this season to shore up this bench, even if he have to give up assets to do it. This team isn't good enough to make the playoffs with this bench.

-Speaking of, I want to see Babbit instead of Salmons. Who's with me?

What are some of PT's thoughts so far into the year?

Wouldn't mind seeing Reke start at SG and Babbitt at SF with EG coming off the bench with Ryno. He just gets lost in the shuffle starting and could be a good boost to our 2nd unit.

Im with you on Ajinca.

I'd trade Gordon for Rudy Gay Chardonnay straight-up.

-it was most encouraging that they made great second half adjustments. one knock in the past on monty was the 3rd quarter and coming out flat. they held the Mavs to 43 second half points after giving them 2 30 point quarters in the first half. that's awesome.

-holiday is encouraging. his defense has been as advertised. would like to see him facilitate the offense down the stretch. i don't mind evans bringing it up sometimes, but in late game situations i want jrue running the offense through AD.

-they cannot make the playoffs having 6 guys averaging over 30 minutes a game. someone on the bench needs to step up. need one of rivers/jimmer to be that go to guard off the bench. i wouldn't be surprised to see Russ come off the inactive list soon if neither of them can handle it.

-dallas is going to be a top 4 seed. it's encouraging that this young team that hasn't played much together hung in there and fought against them early in the season.

-tomorrow night is a big game agasint a team the pels have done well against in the past. need a big road win then turn around and win one at home to be at 3-1 heading into a few tough road games.

Two non-basketball related gripes:

I'm bummed you have to go through security to get into champions square. We would bring our own beer last year before the game.

Chicken tenders are shitty now and more expensive. Totally different kind.

_____

Basketball related:

AD is clearly the real deal and beyond that, I love the passion he's been exhibiting. We need him to be a leader.

Asik is a great addition but I don't like his stone hands or when offense is ran through him around the free throw line on some sets. Totally unnecessary and unproductive.

Agreed on the idea to start Babbit. Space the floor a little bit and bring in some offensive punch off the bench. Sounds like a great idea.

That's the problem, any trade we make would be like taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

They've looked MUCH better this season in the 3rd. 3rd quarter play has been a strength for us so far as opposed to our biggest weakness. Which is good.

Yep. Still haven't seen much from him as far pure point guarding so far, but I'm optimistic. At least he was getting his shot to fall last night.

I just don't see it. Our bench is going to suck this year, we just have to accept this and move on. I hope we can stay healthy with our starters or good god we are fricked.

if any of the 6 goes down for more than 5 or so games, this season is a wash. and that's a lot to ask from a group that missed a combined like 150 games last year.

salmons will be this year's steamer. dude is garbage and they overpaid the frick out of him. i really don't get why Ajinca isn't getting minutes. he was decent last year.

i just hope jimmer can start making the most of his PT

Yea I forget which game it was but we ran what was basically a pick and pop with Asik at the elbow and it was a total and complete failure. It's like we forgot it was Asik and were running a play designed for Davis/Anderson.

Asik looks good in a lot of different ways, and is EXACTLY what this team needed, but holy shite the Rockets people weren't lying about his offense. He airballs stuff from a foot away. It's bad.

At least Steamer was a tall body out there. That counts for something.

Not sure Salmons brings anything to the table.

well, he taught me something. apparently wearing a headband that's not that night's jersey color is fine but everyone on the team has to wear that color headband. since he's the only one on the team with the headband, he can basically wear whatever color headband he wants every night.

The lack of thought and/or attention to putting together a 2nd unit falls squarely on Dell's shoulders.

-AD is a monstar, he belongs on the alien team from space jam.
-Salmons is terrible and I'd rather see Babbitt or Miller.
-Speaking of Babbitt why not try him in the starting lineup with Jrue and the Wolvereke at the 2?
-EG needs to come off the bench, there are simply no touches for him with the first team guys.
-Asik is the type of center this team needed

That's a good point

Between Jrue, Reek, and Davis we have more than enough offense out there with the starting group to not even need Gordon

Holy shite this team would be so awesome with a 2/3 like Tony Allen out there, not needing shots and playing balls-out defense for 30+ minutes every night

sigh...fricking Gordon...

excellent point. whenever he finally touches it, he's like that guy in the pickup game who is playing on a team with 4 friends. he get it, and he refuses to give it up because he knows he won't get it back.

I would honestly like to see EG used in the role Tyreke had last season. Let him run the second team offense, maybe he'll fall into a rhythm. Obviously the end game is finding a trade partner for him, or him opting out after this season. If he's truly as unhappy as he seems maybe he'll leave the money on the table. He just doesn't fit with our other personnel, who are simply better players.
