Voodoo sat review

No line at 230 sat. Bathroom wait was short, but they were all together and far away. The bathrooms had a narrow turning entrance, that created a dangerous situation. You got 200 people in 100sq feet area, being funneled in and out. It was like bourbon on Mardigras.
Astr was cool, p lander z was great if you like punk (I don't), 1st time seeing the givers, and was impressed by the female singer. She has a great voice, played drums, guitar, sang, and was full of energy. The 30min we saw 30 sec to mars, Leto talked half the time. Just play already! Watched first few songs of big Freedia set and he really knows how to get the party goin, but after a few, it gets old. Skrillex was just a good fun knucklehead time. Wether it's prerecord or not, it's just a hell of a party. I could see his silhouette in front of the led screen jump off the turntables and fly thru the air, I was convinced he had a trampoline back there. He was wild the whole time. It had a lot of mixes, he would play cypress hill for 30 sec then mix in one of his tunes.
I just see so many people complaining on Facebook, and I just don't know what they expect. I understand the frustration with the long lines on Friday, I did not go that day. It seems that they fixed it on Saturday. We had a good time, and we had earlybird tickets, so I figure that last night admission was about $35 for me, so I think it was worth it.

Belive what? That is it is or isn't prerecorded?

without going Friday I'm not sure you get to say people need lower expectations. With a 2 hour line (due to the fest thinking 4 gates was acceptable) coupled with no real parking plan - there were people that spent 3 hours from driving up to get in. I'm not one to argue for refunds and I didn't wait in a line THAT long but having only 4 gates is neglectful enough that I think a lot of folks that paid for Friday deserve something.
Sound bleed has been a consistent issue for 2 years now. Still bad. The wind has done them no favors on sound quality at the stages either- both limiting equipment (couldn't raise all the speakers Friday at the main stage) and generally tearing up what was being sent out (not their fault but when you miss on what you can control it sucks bad when the stuff outside your control comes out bad too). Wasn't as bad yesterday in my experience
Between friends and I we've hit a good portion of the food booths and they've ranged from bad to mediocre. Other festivals manage much better
Can't comment on the bathrooms as I've primarily used artist ones thanks to a friend with access but generally mixed bag feedback I've heard
As someone local that did presale- I'm disappointed but don't feel ripped off. If I paid full price or traveled from out of town is be real angry

That DJs prerecord their live sets. That happens maybe .01% of the time in the industry and usually only the last few minutes in correlation with a firework show.

I can understand the complaints about the lines on Friday. It was ridiculous. We had LOA passes so I knew we had a special entrance, so we got to just walk right past all that. Our friend just had a regular 3 day pass and walked in with us also.
All the food we've had has been good. Not gourmet, but better than carnival food.
Can't speak for the bathroom situation because the MAIN reason I got LOA passes was to NOT have to use the regular port a potties.
Sound bleed is an issue, but I feel like when you're at a specific stage it's not as noticeable unless there's a lull in the music.
Outkast was fantastic. The bass. Woah!
I thoroughly enjoyed 30 Seconds to Mars. I really enjoyed Jared Leto's crowd interaction and didn't feel like he talked too much. He seemed to actually be enjoying himself.
One, unfortunate, complaint I have was with the medic response time. Had to assist a girl who was having a really bad seizure and stopped breathing for a few seconds. None of her friends were around, luckily myself and two girls near all happened to be CPR certified. It took event staff about 5 minutes to get there and another two for the paramedic to get there. We were right next to the barricade, seemed like an inordinately long time. Really scary buzz kill. Drugs are bad, mmkay.

Here now. Good weather, crowd starting to pile on. No hiccups at entrance but they searched EVERYTHING. Looking forward to AWOL and Foo. Gonna try and sneak away for Manchester Orch.

Well technically it is all pre-recorded shite.

This! I saw Arctic Monkeys right after, and the singer (Alex Turner) tends to just stand there, play, and not say much at all between songs besides "New Orleans".
Whereas beforehand, Jared was getting the crowd to make noise and climbing the lighting rig in the middle.
ETA: We got there around 4 and lines were not long, though the lady was VERY thorough to the point of taking my camera case out and opening it. The portapotties were a clusterfrick...they lined the walls of a small square space so all the lines ran into each other. Otherwise, it was fun.

Further commentary to the sound bleed- caught a band today that joked they had to play their ballad to the same tempo as the song on the neighboring stage

in a fitting start to 2015, voodoo is advertising their presale tickets are available now.... and the link isnt working.
ill surely drop the $100 again - despite the complaints. but i do hope they dont fumble quite as many simple things.

i've never understood the LOA deal... is it really worth an extra $250 to not have to piss with the commoners?
