it'll go to 8 but that's the most imo

This....no way can you expand the "playoffs" further unless the top seeds get 1 or 2 HOME games !
How can the "fans" be expected to travel to conference champ. games, first round playoff games,semi-finals and then....a champ. final ??

The NCAA can care less about what it costs fans and whether or not they travel. All they are worried about is how much TV money will be coming in. More playoff games = more money. It's gonna go to 8 after this contract ends.

It should stay at 4 forever. When you expand to 12, the #13 team is going to be left out and eventually there will be an outcry and it will expand to 16, then to 32, etc.
Just leave it at 4.

I like 4, the only problem is there are 5 power conferences. I don't like the opinion factor I'd rather have clear cut selection criteria like the NFL. If that means 5 teams with top seed having a bye so be it. But since you've already created 3 rounds why not go 6 to add an at large(wildcard) in case of a bama/lsu 2011 type scenario
Notre dame needs to join a conference

I don't care about 10 game schedules or 11 or 12 game schedules. The FCS aka (the old 1-AA) has been doing this as long as I can reminder. They have even expanded there playoffs to 24 teams. It's all about money. Bowl games make money, even the small bowls like the Beef O'bradys Bowl. ESPN has contracts through 2025 so there you have it.

You can't shorten the regular season. Millions of dollars would be lost. Yes even against Sam Houston. LSU could probably sustain losing $3 mil on ticket sales to one game, others can't.

But the places do care...they are on the hook for selling "x" amount of tickets.
most lose $
some people are never happy.... every get in, everyone get a trophy
finally got 4 teams and there is already bitching..the politics already imagine w 8 teams.
and not every year that the top 8 are worthy
not really in favor of this, but maybe 6 if and only if # 1 and 2 get a bye...gives some meaning to earning 1 and 2 positions
